Lovely breakfast
My partner and I both ordered the pork belly as the entree, it was really tasty - only thing I'd fault is the crackling wasn't very 'crackling' and the pickled vegetables were a little random, I ordered the chicken for the main I wasn't a huge fan of the stuffing but besides that it was delicious, my partner had the lamb he absolutely loved it 'it was moist and perfectly cooked' I would recommend ?
This was our second time here and the food was superb! Although the waitress was a lil rude and that made us feel a bit uncomfortable
Fabulous experience. Cheap, easy, interesting and as soon as the lights went on it became magical!
When you make it muslim friendly, you open up for us more choices of food for consumption. I have been travelling to many countries such as Japan, South Korea, China, United States, Germany and Australia... but I have yet to find a non-muslim restaurant that are muslim friendly. It has been a pleasant experience for us. Food is great. The view from up there are breathtaking. Your staff are also friendly and helpful. Thank you.
I'd highly recommend if you're nearby and have a free evening to take this Treewalk. It is NZ longest Treewalk, at night time all the lights are lite up, it's pretty spectacular 😁
Walking high in the trees (but not too high) was a fun experience. And reading the information along the way was educational even for a kiwi like myself. My son of 12 had a great time exploring and taking photos, Highly recommend for everyone
We have hired bikes from Electric bike Rotorua a few times now. Bikes are always in excellent condition and they are great people to deal with. E bike made the Great Lake trail a fantastic ride for me rather than a struggle 👍
Took my husband here as a surprise birthday trip to Rotorua. He was so happy with the experience. When we arrived the guest desk attendants were very welcoming and friendly. All directions were clearly given and the village was amazing. Thanks for sharing this village with us and educating us.
Went here on the 3pm tour and had a guided tour with only 2 other people our tour guide was pretty good and we got to see how they live at the village the woman on reception suggested we go back the next day to see the show which we did and it was amazing! Can't give enough praise for the show it was really really great. Thank you!
Myself my Mum and my 10 year old daughter went yesterday. It's a neat place to check out, very cultural. The Maori welcome where they performed was excellent! And my daughter enjoyed the corn :) I recommend going here.
Phenomenal place! Mother Nature never fails to amaze and the tour guides were great - especially Henare who was just fab! Loved the cultural show too... very moving experience all round... thoroughly recommend!
Excellent guiding, with humour and education. Fantastic live show. Hangi pie and hot pool cooked sweetcorn a must. And take some coins for the diving!!
We watched the very entertaining Maori show, participated in a guided tour, tried the hangi meal, wandered through the shops and village, and also did the walks around the back of the village. The show was excellent, all the entertainers were very good. Our guide for our tour was great, we learnt a lot not only about the village and its history and the way the thermal gases and waters are used, but also a lot of other Maori stories, customs and beliefs. It was very educational and very informative. The walks around the village were a lovely way to finish off our day at a truly special place.
Great guide full of information of the village an the people some great history there
We are lucky to have Mikiel (Michael) as our tour guide. He is really the best!! It's a very nice life village to visit with family and friends.
We had great time at The Living Maori Village - Whakarewarewa when we traveled to Rotorua. The guide was so friendly and well explaining about village maori life and good opportunity to learn history of New Zealand. We really enjoyed performance as well!! I hope more young people keep their precious culture.
We loved our tour of the Living Village and the show was great! We would definitely recommend!
It was great to see the workings of the village whilst also seeing some of the natural geysers and waters. The cultural performance was fun to watch. The guide was very good and we enjoyed a sweet corn cob that has been cooking in the waters. Recommended
A very insightful tour and experience. I’ve been on Maori cultural experiences previously and really enjoyed that this is in a loving Maori village. Our tour guide - T - was fantastic!!
great performance, great guide very informative,
This is a REAL Maori village with real people, unlike the side shows with money people running them. Really enjoyed the tour by Chief, and the friendliness of the people.
For someone that comes from NZ and is Maori I would definitely recommend you visit Whakarewarewa. This place will give you an insight into how Maori live in these natural environments both now and back then. Love the fact that this place is run by the descendants. The waiata and haka were awesome. Loved the duet. Kia ora whanau!
Really enjoyed this attraction. Great guide and interesting information
A good place worth visiting
It was a lovely afternoon spending our time looking over the geyser and learning about how the Maori people lived utilising the geothermal land into everyday living.
Highly recommend Rob the tour guide - such a fun character!! kept us entertained throughout the tour with his story's. Here you will learn and experience culture, way of life then and now, village history and a must do #try #traditional #Maori #food (hangi) cooked in the ground, corn on cob! and the delicious steamed pudding drizzled with fresh custard topped with whipped cream and passionfruit & side of fresh fruit.
Not to be missed, if you are in Rotorua.
We enjoy our tour at The Living Maori Village. It is an interesting place and dancers were good . my group so happy take a photo with them after the show. It's worth to try!
Booked this experience last minute on a cold, wet first day of our 3 day trip to Rotorua and so glad we did! Our guide Michael was very entertaining and full of interesting information, the village definitely feels like it's home to people and not just a tourist destination. Walking around the pretty much deserted village and the lakes was just stunning - maybe helped by the fact that it's off season and the weather was terrible, but the atmosphere was amazing. The dance show was very entertaining - overall, loved it! Not usually something that I would do, but ended up being the highlight of our Rotorua stay
It was simply awesome! The tour guide was a local and explained to us many things about the village very well. It was funny and informative. The live performance was highlight that cannot be missed. Do check out the tour and performance time so that you don't miss any of the both.
Loved the cultural show! Was educated about the village Just needs to be more organised regarding tours and where to go to find where the tour starts. Need more toilets But overall- very happy
