Great flight with Ben, flying over the mountains. He's warm and personable, has been flying with his dad since a kid, and knows the mountains like the back of his hand. The view of the mountains from the sky cannot be compared with anything else. It's gobsmacking! So glad we did this!
This is a must do ! The information they give you about the trees and birds is great ! I do believe maybe during summer it’s more fun when the trees are blooming but the experience was great anyway !
Humans can hardly walk along the tree tops except here 😊 It was pretty cool and unique 🤗 the cafe staff were very friendly.
Loved everything about this treetop walk. Stunning views of the snow capped Southern Alps are an extra bonus! Not a fan of heights usually but I felt safe and even enjoyed the walk up the viewing tower! Not too difficult - the walk up the hill at the start is probably the most taxing part!! Would recommend for all ages
This was great. Loved it.
A really great experience. A mean feat of engineering, enabling a chance to see NZ flora and faunat from a different perspective. Self guided map was really great and the views from the "Hokitika Tower" is worth the 107 steps. With a complimentary buggy to drive you up and back to/from the steel platform if needed plus a cafe and gift shop, definitely worth a visit.
Beautiful serene walk We went at 9.30am was lovely & quiet
Great family friendly experience. The hill up wasn't too steep to push the stroller up and it was very easy to walk around on the platforms/bridges.
I hate heights but this was the touristy thing I wanted to do on our West Coast Adventure. Grey day, rain off and on but so beautiful, the lake and the birds. I made it up the Tower of Terror and to the end of the cantilever and back to the bottom in time to see people coming down the zip line without screaming, what is wrong with them? Never have to do it again but fully recommend!
A unique and memorable opportunity for gazing at an established forest. Panoramic views, a blend of vibrant greens with excellent information opportunities along the elevated walk makes this a must-do activity in Hokitika.
The day we had booked was very wet with low cloud. We turned up and asked if we could reschedule for the following day as the weather forecast was better. The team were lovely and were able to accomodate a swap for us. So glad we did as the next day was a beautiful clear day. A nice easy stroll to get up to the start. There is also a buggy that will take you up if walking is difficult. Very peaceful and the views out over the lake superb. Well worth the trip out and the coffee was good too. A lovely day out was had by all.
Awesome opportunity to see the forest from a unique perspective. As a tree nerd and lover of all things growing I was in heaven. Informative pamphlets and signage. Not for those that are squeamish about heights! Cafe food was delicious and reasonably priced.
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Beautiful outlook. Not too hard to achieve. Even climbed the Tower - brave me
it was absolutely amazing from the staff in the Cafe to the views from the top of the tower, a must on anyone's bucket list excellent value for money and definitely recommend anyone passing through do this . Would definitely do it again should we come back through the coast 💜💜💜💜
Awesome experience! Definitely a bit of a thrill looking down though, the walk way feels very sturdy and such a different view looking down on big trees
Beautiful views, lots to see. Fantastic construction, we were impressed with this. Great informative map along with stops with placards of information. Lovely cafe along with gift shop.
A great way to kill a few hours if you are heading north or south on the West Coast. You are getting out behind the wheel and recharging your batteries, Then having a nice coffee before heading back on the road I never give anyone 5 stars because if they get to many they may take their eye of the ball and their service may drop
Very much enjoyed the tree top walk. Amazing to be looking down on the forest, but still felt small amongst it.
A must do on your bucket list. It’s supposed to take 45 min, we took 90 mins. We didn’t want to leave. Slow down take your time, enjoy the sounds and amazing views
Awesome experience and definitely worth while visiting.
Great visit even while raining and as the rain was clearing. The views of the trees and lake were magical and the mist from the rain made you feel like you were in a different place. Highly recommended
Lovely walk with information Boards along the way to explain trees, wildlife etc that you will be viewing at that spot. The walk itself is Easy for little legs. Quite pricey, but nice to do once at least.
It is really a different experience being up high in the canopy. It is well set up. The cafe was jice! Lots of carparking and wondeful entrance. Great views over the lake and we learnt alot about the different plants. Don't rush it! Its to be done leisurely, taking it all in.
The tour is just great, what a pity it’s a cloudy day when we were there.
Although we arrived early we were allowed to go straight in and enjoy the walk, it was raining so we could not enjoy it to the full , on a good day views would be great .
This was a perfect wee walk for our family. Being so close to the coastline it offered a different aspect to our weekend break which we thoroughly enjoyed. The 'lookout tower' was awesome ,but very much not for the feint hearted!Recommend this to all travellers visiting this part of the west coast
Second time we’ve visited the tree top walk, such a great place to visit while in Hokitika. Great service and food at the little cafe as well. Absolutely love being up in the canopy of the trees.
We were lucky to strike the coast on a beautiful summers day without a drop of rain. The tree top walk was amazing! I enjoyed the little information stops. I'll definitely be back on a rainy day as I can already tell the scenery with be more spectacular then! Such an amazing experience. Loved it.
Very good, except for the wind. Lovely view. Nice to see the bird life. Don't forget to get a meal from the cafe. Really nice meal. Thank you so much
I wasn't too sure what to expect. The Canopy walk is very cleverly structured and although I have a fear of heights, I managed it alright. Going to the top of the spiral staircase was scary but worth it when you get to the top.
Fantastic!! Well worth the admission fee. Went first thing and the weather couldn't have been better. Highly recommend.
