Great experience. Horses are gorgeous and good natured, and the scenery is stunning. All the staff were lovely and our guide, Sarah I believe, was excellent, full of information and funny. Definitely recommend this.

Me and my four mates, our first time quad biking didn’t know it was that simple. But definitely a must do activity, very fun when with a lot of people. Stuffs were very kind and cool. I would definitely do this again .

What a great afternoon in the backcountry of cardrona. Great for all levels of riders, many laughs and a fantastic guide deb! I couldn't believe how calm the horses are and well mannered. Great kiwi experience even for kiwis! ? Thank you will come back one day!

We had a great time. The drive from Queenstown was beautiful as well. Debs and Jo were super friendly and obviously very passionate about what they're doing. Our horses were very gentle and calm! We were surprised how sore our legs were after riding. Had a great time, would definitely like to do it again if we're visiting.

Best experience in NZ so far! Absolutely loved it. I'm used to horse riding but it was my partners very first time and by the end of it he was basically a cowboy! Definitely coming back soon!

The homestead is located a short stroll off the main road just before Cardrona Ski Fields. We hired a car for the day for ease, comfort and to take in the scenery along our drive. From the second we arrive we were welcomed like family. Horses are beautiful and well looked after. The trail takes you through open paddocks with breathtaking views, over a stream and through the hills. My daughter (10yrs old) had never ridden before, she was trotting with ease after minutes, credit to the owners, guides, and well trained horse. Wear the Drizabone jacket! It keeps you comfortably warm from the elements, gives the experience an authentic feel and makes for a great photo half way through the trek. Will do this again in a heart beat...when we get back over the ditch from Oz! Thanks again Back Country Saddles xx

We were offered some extra layers when we arrived slightly under dressed which we were so thankful for! Our guide was amazing, the horses were suited well to us and the trek itself was so fun! Over all highly recommend! Couldn’t have been better!

Great ride, with a lovely chatty tour guide and group of similar level so we could enjoy riding at a faster pace than walking! Lovely country.

I am a novice rider and the ladies at back country saddles were very patient. The group leader was so knowledgeable, between bursts of cantering we would slow up to soak in the scenery and she pointed out local wildlife and native flora. Be sure to add your weight and height when booking on bookme to make it easier on the day!

The ride was safe and fun. Did a 2hrs tracking up the mountains. All the horses are well trained. Fortunately we had a great weather too! Highly recommended!

I’ve been on many a horse ride and this one was, by far, the best of all. Firstly, the horses - beautiful, responsive, and very well behaved. I love Appaloosas and riding them across such picturesque surroundings felt like something out of an old Western. For me, that was heaven. Actually, calling the scenery picturesque is an understatement - it’s beyond words. Add to all of this our wonderful guide, Frenchie, who, not only led the ride, but was attuned to each riders ability and allowed them to ride accordingly. A “must-do” in a list of awesome activities around Queenstown. Heading back soon with the whole family next time!

We loved everything about this ride; the people (Deb and Frenchie), the horses (all willing, safe and responsive) and the amazing scenery. Absolutely the best way to see the high country of New Zealand without the crowds. We had all levels of rider from dead set beginner to experienced and all loved it and didn't want it to finish.

Great for those that are adventurous. Simon our guide was very chilled, laid back, fun. We unfortunately got hit by a blizzard and around minus 25˚C but we knew the conditions on that day and we aware - also knew we would be in good hands. We got snow, wind, sun the works - awesome! Quad Bikes were great and handled all the terrains, steep hills, slight cambers, up and down. One of our best tours/experiences as local Kiwis!

It was such a great experience that I won't forget where you drive the quad bike up to the mountains throughout the farms till you reach the highest peak on the mountain where it literally snows and the time we reached there it was snowing and it was the best experience of my life. I'm more than happy to do this again with my family and would highly recommend to anyone who is just wanting to get some adventure. Our host was amazing and she made sure that I was comfortable riding the quad bike. The photos you see is real and that's what you will see and person which is just unreal. 5/5

The four of us had a great day on the trails.Tis was our second time.The staff were super helpful and friendly.The Weather was fine and cool .Spent all day and rode down to the pub at the end of the day.We only rode greens and blues and could only respect the people riding the black runs.We had a fun day and will tell all to ride at your excellent park.

13km or so drive up wide dirt track with plenty of hairpin bends to get to resort. Great views from top, with plenty of activities. Helpful and friendly staff. Great cafe. All around well worth a visit.

Worth the $75 a head. Spent a fair amount of time on the ski lifts but that was part of the fun. Really exhilarating experience especially when you really push yourself to the limit. No better rush without an engine exists!

Booked for a group of 11 people and had the best fun. Just wish it was a longer session as 2 hours wasn’t long enough. Great tracks that got the adrenaline pumping. We will be back!

Absolutely incredible experience! The ride felt really personal and tailored to each group, instead of super commercialised. The guides were really helpful and knowledgeable on both the landscape and the horses. It was so nice seeing and supporting a locally owned and operated small company, when there are so many big corporate chains in the Queenstown area. You can also tell they really care for their horses and put the horses needs first which is super important. 12/10 experience - would recommend to people of all ages and riding abilities

I booked for the Queenstown store but had no issues picking the skis etc up at the Wanaka store. The staff at the Wanaka store were great. I would highly recommend Outside Sports - Queenstown or Wanaka.

very nice and helpful staff, there are many tracks for every kind of riding level from beginner to expert with lots of flow. Have had a fun day riding and will definitely come back.

The most amazing adventure in the Qtown area. It was My wife and 2 daughters first time on a horse and the staff were lovely and patient. Would pay double the amount price to do it again. Loved it and recommend it to everyone.

Great family activity that our 3yr old could join in with. Fantastic views as well. Very friendly staff. Easy to operate cart and you can go at your own pace. Would be good if briefing started earlier so you can get the full 2 hrs on the cart. Bring gloves for hands. It got very chilly towards the end. Cafe has very expensive hot chocolate but delicious. Would do it again.

Great views from the gondola and summit loop track & track back down to the base were great! Perfect for taking our 7 months old.

The power was out but yet they still took us to a lift ran by a generator just to keep it going. It was super windy but the views were great .

Kids enjoyed going up in the gondola and discovering the swing. Patches of snow still remained in December so was nice to see. I did the walk to the top and had wonderful views. The only thing was the start of the different tracks weren't marked so had to find my way onto the summit track. From there it was easy to follow the blue marked pegs.

Friendly team at the retail store and also the lift operators. Trails in excellent condition and always being maintained. Riding for everyone. Highly recommend.

This was the second time I'd visited Cardrona Bike Park and it certainly won't be the last. From the trails itself to the friendly staff, I consider this place one of the must-visits if you're into biking and are in the South Island. Queenstown, about an hour away, gets most of the shine but Cardrona is better in my opinion. I'll be back again for sure!!

We took the Gondola to the top than hiked up to the peak wow, wow, wow 🤩 and it’s an experience that is best shared with group of BFFs, families, loved ones. Definitely memories creating
