Highly recommended!!! We planned this visit as a point for the kids to get out of the car for a stretch after an almost 2hr car drive. We were pleasantly surprised when we got so much more out of the visit. My kids were so excited to see a white kiwi and have the brown kiwi running up and down against the glass. The kaka were out in force and were even visiting us in the friendly cafe, that, might I add, had some fantastic scones! The kids loved the interactive space at the entrance and loved looking for all the different types of birds in the averies. The Tuatara came out of hiding a posed for the camera the minute we went to the enclosure. We are so glad we got to visit and will be doing it again
Awesome value, lovely and helpful staff, the birds are amazing, bush walk is breathtaking. Just an awesome experience overall.
A friendle and informative experience, set in natural habitat, well maintained walking tracks make access easy. I took my friend who was ecstatic to see a live kiwi for the first time ever. Planning on going again .
Awesome place, perfect for a couple or family day out. Staff are friendly & knowledgeable.
The park is well loved by its staff and their passion is evident in the way they talk about their animals and the way they communicate with each other. There were several aviaries with nothing in them which left a bit to be desired. The kiwi were fantastic, they certainly put on a show during our visit. However, we have been to many parks all over NZ and there is still much left to be desired. Plenty of potential here but I imagine its difficult to get funding. It needs to be highlighted that in order for people to be inclined to give, interaction and experiences with the animals would open wallets. People are less willing to donate when they dont get the opportunity to appreciate and interact with the animal itself. Eg the beautiful little Kokako in aviary 2 that comes right up close and interacts - we would willingly give to the saving of her kind. However it is still well worth a look, the white kiwi is fantastic and a real wonder.
I had a thoroughly enjoyable day at the Greytown Soaring Centre doing my instructional gliding experience and would strongly recommend this to anyone. It was simply fantastic. The team were amazing in every way and they all made it such a memorable experience. My instructor James was great and I will probably do it again sometime in the future. So much fun!!
