Loved this trip. The hike up to the look out was a good workout before cooling off in the small lake on the island. Enjoyed our boat trip soaking in all the mountain views. Great adventure if having a day trip to Wanaka. We still had time afterwards to spend time in Wanaka before driving home.

Wonderful trip out to Mou Waho with some fascinating information shared about the history of the area. Once on the island we were given two hours to explore by ourselves which was plenty of time to swim in the lake, take in the amazing views and enjoy the birdlife. A repeat visitor - this is a real treat!

Excellent Trip, stunning views, friendly guide ?

If you are looking for a combination boat ride and moderate hike to spectacular vista, this is it. About 4 mile hike total and not significant elevation gain unlike some of the other hikes in the area. Bring walking sticks for coming down to make it easier but they are not necessary. We are a couple in our 60s and this was perfect for us.

Although we live locally, having parents over from the UK enabled us to 'act the tourist' and see more of what is in our own backyard! And what a treat it was! A great trip on Lake Wanaka on the Wanaka Water Taxi, landing on Stephenson's Arm, and then travelling by 4x4 vehicle onto farmland not able to be accessed otherwise. This is a must do trip - the views are amazing, looking over the lake and surrounding mountains; Charlie, our Guide was very informative and pleasant, the picnic was lovely, and the weather made it a stunning day. Whether you are visiting Wanaka, or if you live locally like us and don't have a boat, you have to do this trip - it's food for the soul!

Lovely afternoon out, friendly operators, they were knowledgeable about the area and great with the children who were on the trip. A nice leisurely, scenic cruise for a couple of hours.

We had a great time on this tour. It is a very enjoyable trip across the lake and with all the autumn colors out it was a fantastic relaxing voyage. The walk to the island peak was enjoyable and our guide told us bits of info as we did the walk. The captain also gave us a great time telling us all about Wanaka and the local scene. We would recommend this trip to everyone as it is so different to the usual " tourist" activities

What can you say, add 1 cruise boat, 1 Great Lake, multiple islands, beautiful weather and snow capped mountains and you have the perfect cruise. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, and we loved having a good conversation with our skipper. 5 stars all the way 🤠

Knowledgeable and friendly staff. The journey in the boat was very comfortable, plenty of space and reasonably priced drinks to purchase on way to the island and complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits on the return also. The walk is short and can be missed to enjoy time beside the lake, even for a quick dip!

This is fantastic. We would do it again at the drop of a hat. Our excellent guide James was knowledgeable and funny. What a great asset he is to the company. From pickup and drop off nothing can be faulted. Highly recommend this to everyone not just tourists. Thanks guys ?

Thank you for running this great session. Neither of us had kayaked before, so we're a bit nervous about managing the distance etc without a guide and within the time limit. We needn't have worried as the guy (sorry can't remember his name) explained the map and basic paddling methods. We had an amazing morning paddling around Lake Wanaka, taking in the fantastic views We got out to stop on one of the beaches for a break, but found it a bit tough getting in and out of the water etc so after that, carried straight on to the end. We managed to complete the route in just over 2.5 hrs. In future, I'd take a nice little picnic and rest up a bit more and chill. A highlight of our trip!

We had a great time on the lake with our excellent driver and your operator Matt’. It was so much fun and he was very engaging and knowledgeable. All the staff made sure we knew what was going on, from the time we booked and it was a great experience up the river and across the lake with those awesome views and great spins.

The ride combines a cruise across the lake, some high adrenaline fun and a quiet recharge for the next burst. Our Driver Steve was excellent and provided a great commentary on the lake and river. Highly recommend!

Scenic flight + Hands on PILOT experience. The pilot and the team are so friendly. Pilot lets you even have a go with the take off and landing as well. Amazing views from the top.

Such a fun well formed MTB park - suitable for all levels. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Bike park is more of a mix XC and downhill. Good stuffs too at the cafe!

Staff were friendly and organised. We got straight into it and had 2 too long runs and about 3/4 from Jack’s Spot - 3 hours riding - so much fun!! And spectacular views! Down to Velo for lunch / chicken nachos 👌 Top day. Thank you.

Splashed out on a 3hr can-am session and couldn’t have had a better day. Rachel our driver was awesome, the trails were running mint and we had three runs from the top. Couldn’t have asked for anything more …

Had an epic day out at Bike Glendhu, couldn't believe the value for money with the BookMe Trail pass. The views were exceptional, the tracks were super fun and our whole group had the best day out together with tracks catering to all levels. Finished the day off with a drink down at the base, and the service was fantastic. Cannot wait to get back on the mountain the next time we're in Wanaka.

I took my 4 year old here for an explore and picnic and we both enjoyed it. Tim was very friendly and gave us some interesting history of the island. A must do when visiting Wanaka! I look forward to checking out another island sometime!

This is definitely a must-do in Wanaka! Pedro, our guide is so professional and friendly at the same time! Shared quite abit of climbing tips with us! He took great care of our group of 3! You never want to miss this because the scenery is so worth it! And there are chances for you to take YOLO photos! Every step I climbed makes me want to climb more! Love it!

Richard and team are very experience in what they do. My 7 year old and my wife loved the beautiful scenery and flying over this beautiful place. It’s a must do activity if you are in Wanaka or Queenstown.

We had an amazing time with Misty Mountain Explorer in Wanaka. The scenery was absolutely stunning — dramatic mountains, crystal-clear lakes, and viewpoints that truly showcase the best of the Southern Alps. Doug made the experience truly memorable. He was incredibly friendly and generous in sharing his own local experiences and para-gliding stories. He took great care of our kids, making sure they were comfortable and engaged throughout, which we really appreciated as a family. He also thoughtfully altered the tour to suit our family’s interests, skipping the winery stop as it wasn’t our thing, and adjusting the route and timing due to the weather (it was so windy at Wishbone!) so we still had the best possible experience. We were well looked after the entire time. If there’s an opportunity next time, we’d absolutely love to try fly fishing with Doug — a pity that we had to skip due to weather! But as what Doug said, "wait 5 mins!" Highly recommended — this was a genuine highlight of our trip.
