This outfit were a well oiled machine! From start to finish their friendly staff made you feel safe, excited and comfortable. This was one of the top 5 experiences travel in my life - the plane journey was superlative! The views so up-close you feel like you are part of the mountain. The Milford cruise was stunning and again very comfortable with knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend the whole experience!
We had the most beautiful sunny day with no wind, fantastic views, amazing day
The guide was very kind and funny! Explaining all the time everything around! The transport from Queenstown to Milford was excellent, with free water and air-con, small pauses during the trip to take photos and talk a bit about the regions. When we were there, wow, the scenery is totally breathtaking! Strongly recommend!
Great fun, great group and a great guide... Perfect way to see the Fjord.
All crews are professional and friendly. Small ship is the best for travel to Milford Sound!
Many thanks to the team at Miitre Peak. Captain and crew, as well as the staff at the kiosk. Great informative narrative from the captain, very friendly and approachable.
Beautiful weather the day we did the cruise, we saw dolphins (a tick off my bucket list), and seals. Knowledgeable guide. Overall an awesome must-do experience!
Would recommend this to anyone who enjoys great views and stunning landscapes!
Amazing experience We had a wonderful trip on Milford Sound.Friendly staff, The scenery is incredible. The weather was clear. So lucky see dolphins and seals and penguin. Big thank you.
Since our boat was smaller, we had less people on the cruise. It was easy to move around and take great pictures of the scenery.
Affordable cruise, with lovely, knowledgeable staff. Boat was lovely. It was clean and felt safe. An amazing trip that I would love to do again one day. Thank you so much.
It's the long day as we spend most of the time riding on scenic view along the way to Milford Sound but we never get bored as Ngaire was giving us all the interesting informations nonstop. Really love how she come up with all jokes and still stay super informative. Love the tour and love spending our time with Ngaire. Give her 10/10 for all great work. We saw a bunch of dolphins and heaps of seals during Milford cruise. The ship is very convenient and newly refurbished. Great cafe and planty to choices for lunch or snacks. Recommend for you folks out there who wants to have fantastic experience on South Island. Love Ngaire tho, she's the best ???
Such a beautiful and amazing experience and we were lucky enough to see some dolphins too.
It was an unforgettable experience ❤️ Nature at its best. ? driver was really good... gave really good information about history of Milford Sound
Fantastic adventure beautiful scenery
Everything was perfect... Not so many people, a lots of interesting information, shower in the middle of the waterfall... Beatifull dolphins, seals...... Perfect day... MITRE peakCruise was the smallest boat, but the best one...
Milford Sound is a geographical marvel with amazing, jaw-dropping sights. Well worth a visit. Mitre Peaks makes the whole experience even better. The boat was small enough to accommodate better up-close experiences, and the skipper was friendly and enthusiastic. He cheekily brought us all the way into one of the waterfalls and skillfully maneuvered the boat 360° near a rock with fur seals on it, so everybody gets a great view! Definitely recommending this for anybody visiting New Zealand’s South Island
When i came to New Zealand for the first time 7 years ago, i didn't know it was possible to do a day walk in the Milford Track. Unfortunately you have to book in advance (like one year before) if you want to do the whole track, and because of covid i wasn't sure that i could be able to do it. The best option was to do a day walk. After the booking, I received an email from the staff asking me when i wanted to start and when they can pick me up. I started at 8.30 am and i took the water taxi at 1 pm. So they give you plenty of time if you want to walk a little bit further than the Falls. the last boat is at 4.30 pm. I recommend totally !
It was raining but that allows to see more waterfalls, great view and great staff
We choose a midday cruise and we loved it! Very bright day and we have plenty of time from Te Anau before we reach Milford Sound. Kids had fun running around the ship from top deck to the lower one. Not so many people and it was like we have it all by ourselves. You can buy some snacks and drinks on board or you can bring your own. There is dining area inside and outside so you can choose your seat. The ship goes until almost the open sea, some other ship turn back even earlier than ours.
Its such an amazing and experience to get a chance to see the untiuch nature of New Zealand. The information given during the tour are clear and helpful.
We always book with Jucy. Very dependable. The o my suggestion we have is to bypass TeAnau Downs. The other tours buses pass it for a reason … we’d rather have the extra time at Mirror Lake. Most of the boat crew was so helpful and friendly, the lunch was satisfying also. Great job!
Amazing trip - enough beautiful stops with photo opportunities on the way to Milford to break up the journey there. Loved the cruise and the observatory was interesting. Lunch was suitable, except we would have loved a drink with it. The water on the cruise boat didn’t taste great.
Our driver Ngalie was such a friendly lady. My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our day trip to Milford Sound and stoked at the cheap prices we paid. Thanks for a great tour!
Awesome, yummy lunch, great adventure for the whole family
Great cruise, lovely boat, amazing scenery, definitely would recommend.
Took my parents to Queenstown it was their first trip.booked this cruise very well scheduled and informative driver?Parents and I had a great time and best feeling was to get soaked at the waterfalls. Def recommend these guys to my friends
Amazing landscape! Snow mountain, blue ocean, touchable waterfalls, cute penguins, lazy seals, wandering dolphin family, together friendly staff and clean tidy boat. In brief, unforgettable!
The Milford Sounds cruise is a must do! The scenery is absolutely stunning. The Mitre Peak crew were so friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
Fantastic trip! for my first time in New Zealand. Bus pick up us at YHA bus stop around 6:20 am. Ryan is our driver and guide. He did a great job. Thank you so much :)
Was a great experience despite the rain. We got to see the seals, penguins (bonus) and a pod of dolphins in the distance. There was self service hot tea and coffee onboard which was a great comfort from the cold outside. Went up close to the waterfalls. The only issue was the free car park which was about 20+mins walk away so was not fun to walk in the rain but would be cool on a fine day. Would still recommend, the cruise itself was a lot of fun and quite educational. Loved it!
Staffs are very friendly and they do great services. We have lots of experiences when they explain lots of things in detail. We were very enjoying to get closer to the falls. So great. The feeling which we never forget. Thanks so much for everything.
So clean and new ship , whole family liked it . Beautiful views and cruise
This is a highlight and this trip simply fantastic! Is is a scenic flight from Queenstown over snowy mountains till the beautiful fjord of Milford Sound! The boat trip over the fjord is almost therapy and sets your mind at ease: very relaxing. All in all an impressive nature experience!
Had an amazing time. It’s the best way to see and explore Milford Sound. It’s fun, personable and a great work out. All gear supplied (wetsuit, thermals, etc). Our guide was fantastic as well. Definitely worth doing if you’re going to Milford Sound.
We had great weather--not a cloud in the sky--and our guide Tobias was wonderful. We kayaked around 15km over 4 hours and enjoyed the peaceful beauty of Milford Sound. All gear is provided, just make sure to take insect repellent and a bag lunch/snacks.
I crowded, plenty of viewing areas option to add kayaking, underwater experience and lunch to cruise. Great informative commentary, super friendly crew. Complimentary tea and coffee with the ability to purchase snacks, hot soup and alcohol. Loved everything about this experience. Thank you from cheekyricho cooking YouTube channel in Australia
The smaller coach was perfect for someone who doesn't like having large crowds around them. Our driver was a brilliant local from Te Anau and made it feel more like a tiki tour than a boring guided tour. Highly recommend it.
Good experience, well worth the money
Thank you for a wonderful informative cruise .the young grew member was very willing to take our picture with the waterfalls and shear information when asked. Thanks you u both
Our coach driver was lovely and we learnt so many interesting facts about Fiordland. The cruise around Milford Sound was amazing! Would highly recommend going on this trip with Southern Discoveries.
Loved our cruise, great views and boat tour the staff were friendly and gave good commentary of the area along the way
It's a really really long way from Queenstown to Milford Sound. But on the journey, we have a great view and a chance to get off and take photos on some sites. The buffet was good, but it's hard to eat for a long time because the seats are tight and the ship is leaving. Milford Sound can be different from expectations and you can be disappointed because it is usually rainy. Even if it rains, don't stay in the cabin. Watch the Great Milford Sound at Top Deck. Prepare a raincoat or waterproof jacket. I prepared a packable windshield jacket. And you should protect your cell phone and camera from rain and waterfall. !Don't miss this trip!
From Te Anau to Milford Sound, you will never get bored because of the amazing sceneries along the way. The tour itself is a wonderful experience. The captain of the boat explained things well. We were so lucky that we get to see penguins, fur seals and dolphins during the tour. The photos that I took did not give justice to the beauty that I have witnessed though. This is something that I will do again if time and resources permit.
I recently took the Milford Sound Cruise operated by Mitre Peak Cruises, and I must say that it was a breathtaking experience. The fjord, waterfalls, and wildlife in the area were nothing short of spectacular. The staff on board the vessel were knowledgeable and friendly, and the captain provided insightful commentary throughout the cruise, making the experience all the more enjoyable. The vessel was quite bumpy it might be due to the weather. Additionally, I found the price of the cruise to be quite expensive compared to other activities in the area. Nevertheless, Mitre Peak Cruises offer a cheaper price among all the operator. Overall, I would highly recommend the Milford Sound Cruise operated by Mitre Peak Cruises for anyone looking to experience the natural beauty of Milford Sound. Despite some minor drawbacks, I would rate my experience 4 stars out of 5.
