We hadn’t visited this place for a while but it didn’t disappoint. It has been well maintained. Meandering around the pretty paths on a summers day with magnificent lifelike sculptures appearing and finishing with a coffee on the shady deck made for a perfect day.
Pleasantly surprised by what was hidden behind the road front hedges. Beautiful care taken of gardens, walkways and layout. Little display corners ticked away to discover. Next time will check out lawn bar & restaurant!
Well worth a visit for extensive selection of sculptures inside and outside. Friendly staff and great facilities.
If you are planing to spend a day outside and see some cool stuff, I highly recommend this place.
Had a wonderful time here. Could possibly get a bit more signage on where to buy tickets or the entrance is. Some stunning artworks. A lovely walk to experience different points of view. Inspirational quotes. Loved the snails. Great for old and young.
First time visitor and will definitely be visiting this place again. Super exceded all expectations. The sculptures, some quite funny. The walk around the gardens is so tranquil.
A huge thank u to the owners and staff of this magnificent art collection. Impressive!
What a beautifully put together exhibition of talent AND on our doorstep. From the lady in the shop to the coffee to the well cared for grounds and the sculptures. Not to mention the gallery! We had U.K visitors who were equally blown away. Thanks
Lots to see and interesting discussions with the kids on how art is interpreted. Kids haa sax be asked to go again
What a surprise find near Matakana. The outside gardens and sculptures are beautifully curated. You also have the stunning inside art galleries with a diverse range of art. We visited on a winters day and it was still stunning- we will have to return during the other seasons to see it all again.
A special place to visit with a beautifully planned, planted garden. To walk through and see the sculptures within these settings. On top of your garden walk. You enter a stunning set of Art galleries. With incredible art works to see. A super place to visit. A lovely restaurant. Whose staff were so lovely, catering for my small Grandchildren. Umbrellas available if the weather changes. Incredibly well designed, well thought out. Easy parking. Well worth the visit. My second time here and just as enjoyable, as the first.
This was our 3rd visit and still enjoyed every moment wandering around the beautifully designed and landscaped grounds scattered with sculptures from many different artists. After a quick drinks break in the restaurant, Rothko, we continued our journey through the galleries where even more wonderment can be found to enjoy. This is a day out where you really don’t want to rush! We will be back!!
At first I wasn't sure whether it would be worth the entrance fee, but from the moment we walked in we were blown away. The art is fun, vibrant and so very well presented and in such a unique way. Its the way art should be. Fun! As we walked through it continued to be equally as great all the way to the end. We brought my mum for her 65th birthday and had 2 kids, 1 and 4 with us. Everyone had a great time. Finished off at freddies with a delicious gelato bowl. The art collection is incredible and we will be recommending it to everyone!
A little something for everyone...had a lovely day up here...nice after all the rain we have had
A wonderful eclectic collection of sculptures abd art both indoors and out. Wonderful gardens and settings.
The Sculptureum is a really cool place to visit, the full price had put me off a bit but bookme's price was great. There are heaps of things to look at, it takes a while to work around. Us adults enjoyed it as much as our 2 year old.
I love this place and arts. We wanna go and see more and more , thanks. Excellence , lovely.
This place is fabulous, the gardens are blissful in the shade and the sculptures throughout really pop. The gardeners do a wonderful job here. The art galleries are FULL with so much engaging art, it's really enjoyable, and is updated - great photo opportunities, and lots of hidden gems. The only thing I don't love is the aviaries - I'd love to see either much bigger aviaries for the birds (an open aviary would be even better), or no birds in the aviaries. However, the place is really well worth it!
Awesome
Amazing! Loved it!!! Went for the sculptures and art and was very impressed. So refreshing to have fun pieces displayed in a fabulous setting. Very original and much needed alternative cultural experience for New Zealand. Book me made this more affordable for us. Cheers 👍
If you’re in Matakana, passing through or nearby and you don’t go snd view then you’re missing out on an amazing Restaurant, gardens and Galleries....one word...WOW ....loved it and the food was divine.
literally.... Normally, the prices I found were too steep. Happy to have seen this offer on Bookme. It was worth the visit. They had different areas to try and explore. We didn't eat at their restaurant though; although it looked like they had quite a good spread on offer, we had in our company littlies with very limited palettes. If you visit from quite a distance away, make sure to set aside at least half a day for the sights. Better yet, a day or two to best explore what Matakana has to offer. Be prepared for lots of walking. They also do offer a "scavenger hunt" for the kids to enjoy.
Highly recommended! Very peaceful place and healing place, balancing all senses. The art collection, the nature, the staff …everything is in a harmony Thank you for sharing your treasure with us
Great n peaceful...gud family outing
Very impressed, the grounds are beautifully kept and there’s some amazing art!
We had a fabulous experience with Sculptureum . The ticketing process was easy . On arrival parking spaces were plentiful despite holiday crowds .The meet and greet hostess was exceptional ,delightful and most helpful . We asked for a wheelchair and this was provided with a smile despite the busy reception desk . The gardens were stunning and immaculate and very wheelchair friendly . The art gallery was amazing and full of surprises . Thank you Book me for making it possible ! Totally recommend this !
We had a great time. Something for everyone. Lovely friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere.
This is an amazing place to visit. We love every minute from the start to finish. We took our daughters 8 and 10yrs who equally loved it. A highlight was feeding the rabbits. Alot of time and money has been spent here. Thank you so much, we'll be back soon.
What an absolute hidden gem! Stunning grounds, winery and restaurant as well as the sculpture gardens which were amazing and full of so much colour and beautiful pieces large and small. Everything was to a high standard! We thoroughly enjoyed our time and spent quite a few hours there. Highly recommend!
Something for everyone. Really good value with a bookme discount but would have paid more and it would still be good value entertainment. We hadn't planned to stay for food or drink but decided to have a wine and bite to eat - the service was great and the staff were friendly and flexible to serve us between lunch and dinner. Something different in Matakana! Well worth a visit.
This was one of my favourite day experience, it’s brilliantly done. I only wish we’d had more time so that we could have eaten lunch too There something for everyone
