A wonderful family experience in Akaroa! The sea kayaking was a good adventure, with beautiful views and friendly, knowledgeable guides who made us feel safe and welcome. Seeing the fur seals and pōhatu (little blue penguins) in their natural habitat was truly special, especially for the kids. Well organised, relaxed, and very respectful of wildlife. Highly recommended for families visiting Akaroa 🛶🐧
轻装上阵就好,新手友好,ben和mona都很nice,在途中可以看见海豚和海豹,推荐这次旅行。
Lots of information and it was stunning while sailing
Wonderful crew, friendly, helpful and informative. An amazing experience. Saw so many seals, dolphins and a couple of penguins. Must do if you are in Akaroa
Tony was informative and kind and accommodating. The trip was awesome with beautiful views and so many Hector Dolphins. 11/10
What a wonderful experience, great stories and history. The Hector dolphins riding the bow of the sailing boat to classical musical was a real treat.
This is a great voyage, we saw dolphins, seals, and seagulls. Looking forward to participating in other activities of Book Me.
Absolutely an awesome experience. The weather was perfect and i learnt a lot about the area. We saw a number of Hector dolphins that swam around the boat several times and that certainly made the trip for my grandson. Dont miss it if you are in the area.
Fabulous afternoon spent on the Black Cat - Very informative with the Crew and special mention to Daniel he was a wealth of knowledge and to get the boat close to the caves was amazing- Would highly recommend taking this trip
We had a wonderful two plus hours with Ollie the skipper and dad John the very knowledgable tour guide. Besides a lot of information on the wild life we saw John also told us a lot of the history of Akaroa and the harbour. It was a lovely day and we went well out to sea. With maximum eight passengers it’s an experience that you feel part of all the time. There were four passengers on our trip and it was great.
Ticked all the boxes. Dolphins, seals and a penguin! Fortunate to be with a small group and were able to take lots of photos
Small group of 8 people + 2 hosts. We were lucky to see so many dolphins and swam with them in two different spots. At a point, we were surrounded by 5 (of course they come and go as they please). We even saw a baby dolphin with its mom. We also navigated to other areas and saw seals and birds, plus having a complementary hot beverage and a snack. They were kind enough to accept my request of having some gluten free cookies for me :). It was great, I think the small group made a huge difference, as we had enough time to swim and enjoy without many people around. Only 4 of us decided to swim that day. I totally recommend it. Gracias!
Our day was beautiful! The people friendly and the little elusive dolphins ? made an appearance well worth it.
Great couple of hrs on Akaroa harbour Skipper was fantastic Was a great experience would definitely recommend
Very accommodating staff, my husband and I enjoyed the cruise.
Awesome tour
I booked this trip at the last minute and so glad we did. Even though it was a cold and somewhat windy day we thoroughly enjoyed this cruise. The scenery is beautiful and we saw lots of Hectors dolphins, and some NZ fur seals. The staff were very informative and friendly, and i would happily do this trip again when next we visit Akaroa.
Absolutely stunning morning out on the water, very informative captain, we learnt loads! And saw everything we came to see.
I was on a cruise with Kate, Alex and Bri. The girls were great at spotting wildlife, especially the dolphins that everyone is hoping to see! The cruise was a well run and professional experience that takes you around the harbour and the skipper will tell you a bit about the history of different areas of Akaroa as you go past. We stopped by a area known to have some NZ fur seals. The dolphins came to bow ride at the front of our boat. We were also lucky enough to spot a new calf!
Great experience, Sabrina the deckhand was helpful and made sure we were all comfortable and the captain was very knowledgeable about the Akaroa history, we went out to sea and the engine stopped and the music started and soon we had hector dolphins playing around the boat for at least 15mins it was great.
Beautiful journey with a great driver.
Friendly and knowledgeable guides. We got to see penguins molting and swimming. We also saw a penguin who used to be sick and malnourished being released back into the wild after being nurtured and brought back into health. Overall great experience!
Thoroughly enjoyable experience. Friendly, knowledgeable guides. Ben was ours and was great. Beautiful trip over the hill from Akaroa with photo stops. Kayaking on Flea Bay was beautiful, saw seals and penguins and learned so much.
One of the best experiences ever. Highly recommended to everyone.
As told by the driver, it didn't go birding flat (one of the place stated in itinery) nowadays because not many people interested with this place. However, he still drives us there on the way back upon requested. So you may check with the driver if you want to go there.
I did this tour with my sister, led by skippers Tony & Muffy & dog, Scruffy on my last day in NZ. It was absolutely amazing. The weather wasn't great, but this turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it meant that the 'swim with dolphins' boats weren't out chasing the dolphins. We saw so many Hector's dolphins, seals, a northern giant petrel, a blue penguin! You know when you've landed on a gold day when skipper goes to get his own camera to photograph the wildlife! Thank you for the best last day in New Zealand!
Honestly this was one of the most fun things we've done in NZ so far, saw so many things! A ton of dolpins, seals and penguins. I appreciated the little details about the rock formations as well. We also went into Cathedral cave which was a highlight. It was a cute personal feeling cruise. 100% recommend!
A fantastic time, highly recommend
Amazing tour by Tony and his team. Saw heaps of wildlife including penguins, fur seals, cormorans and dolphins. Very good information on nature and landscape. Absolutely great trip would definitely do it again!
My partner and I and our 4yo daughter loved the journey. Seen lots of dolphins and other wildlife we have never been able to see before. Will love to go again
We had an absolutely fantastic tour with Tony and the crew who took the time to speak to us individually. They told stories of the area and the animals we were looking for. We saw little white flapper penguins, hector dolphins, shags and even a huge group of baby seals. Honestly, this is one of the best things I’ve done in NZ. The boat was small so it could get close to the wildlife and into sections where the bigger boats can’t go. I would highly recommend this to anyone travelling to Akaroa.
We just got back from the tour over the weekend, had an excellent trip with Tony our captain. It was relatively private as smaller boat than some other providers but that’s what we liked about it. 2.5 hours was just enough to get feeling of the ocean and we spotted a couple of dolphins and several seals. Tony knew his stuff and we felt safe on his boat. Plenty of seat options, we went for the roof for the best views. Great tour! Would recommend.
Highly recommend doing this trip. The crew were very knowledgeable and friendly. The scenery is stunning. Enjoyed seeing the seals and dolphins.
Tony & Mafi were great once again! This is our 2nd trip both were brilliant! Informative & respectful of the wildlife, which we appreciated. The dolphins love to come near their boat bow! (We had 8 at one time!) 😍 Beautiful scenery. So worthwhile! My parents loved it too! Thanks & happy Christmas! 🎄
