A wonderful experience from start to finish, I enjoyed every minute of my Pamper Package! Lois is a very experienced beauty therapist with a gracious and caring attitude. I definitely felt pampered and I won’t hesitate to book in again when next I visit Christchurch.

Food are amazing, love it

I've been wanting to try the duck's fat potatoes for a while. They were a treat. Staff are very efficient and the place has a cosy atmosphere.

The food portions were larger than expected, just that if you will be disappointed if you are ordering anything other than steak; the pork cheek and and lamb on bone were quite small. Taste wise it was not disappointing but wasn't mind blowing either. The entrees were amazing, especially the fried chicken which was really tender and juicy. It would not be an understatement to say that it was better than the steak. The potatoes that came with the pork cheek were rather bland. The service provided by the waiters and waitresses were really good and they were always ensuring that our glasses were filled and checking on whether we liked the food or not. The food was also served surprisingly quickly even though the house was packed. We made a order for a main while the whole restaurant was filled and still managed to get the food within around 15 minutes.

We ordered The Butchers Board and a few Mojitos, such an amazing feast! Loved the entire experience and the waitress was above exceptional in her service and smile, very personal and loved chatting with her. Thank you for a lovely evening.

We just had to try the Butchers Board to share and were glad we did. Of all the meat on the board, the short ribs were the most tender and flavourful. Surprisingly however, the most rare beef was also the least tender and quite chewy. Overall everything on the board was tasty and enjoyable. The dessert was a letdown however. The white chocolate torte was dry with icing that was quite gritty in texture and had no real flavour. The white chocolate bark and truffle that came with the torte were nice but this would not be a dessert I would recommend. Service was excellent so for that reason I gave an extra star and wouldn’t hesitate to come back to The Carlton to try some other dishes.

Warm welcome by staff, dining area was comfortable. The menu has a great selection of food, came here with my family for an early birthday dinner. Everyone found the food yummy, I loved my Wakanui steak 😊

It was amazing starter and main and a drink was under $50 each for two my meat was sooo tender and yummy , thank you vibe was good happy waiter did a good job helpful not to chatty well done ‘the dish ‘ gorgeous inside too

Absolutely amazing service, the man there was very welcoming and talkative it was lovely. Food was really good especially our apple and berry crumble for dessert. Would highly recommend and will be back at some point.

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Montreal. Our room was amazing, bed was so comfortable we both managed a 9 hour plus sleep (also the blackout curtains). Our room was the Junior suite, where we had a kitchenette with pod coffee machine, great storage to store your belongings and hanging space. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant, very tasty eggs Benedict and fabulous barista coffee. The hotel staff are all so attentive and friendly! Hotel Montreal was beautifully styled with lovely art work everywhere. My husband and I would recommend staying here!

We were able to check in early which was great, the staff were super helpful and the room was incredible! I enjoyed the truffle on arrival with a card and will be back again when we need accomodation. The gym was great and had a good range of equipment. Thanks everyone!

The quality of the food is very reasonable for the price paid. 4 of us spent $240 total (including 2 drinks). I would steer away from the fried food and tempura items as there is a strong oil aftertaste that stays on the food and the oil sticks on to the food. Also, the fried dumplings also tasted a little bit like frozen dumplings so you might not get dollar back .Do not expect too much from the sushi rice as the rice was slightly overcooked and was kind of dry, which was the same for the rice that was served as well. However, the sashimi is good as expected, tasting fresh. The spicy chicken is quite interesting, making a good fusion between Japanese and Chinese cuisine. The banana crepe was nice but the physical appearance of the dish was not too appetising, but definitely worth a shot. The personal favourite is the ice cream sundae as the green tea ice cream was very strong and flavourful. The fried ice cream had the same oily aftertaste issue like the other fried items.

Excellent service and commentary, thoughtfulness to my family members with disabilities. Only negative is that it would be good to explain that trams come every 10-15minutes and the ticket is for the time booked onwards. Locals could maybe have cheaper tickets?
