This was my 4th outing with Red Boats; they aren't my first choice but at $25 you can't go wrong. Spacious boat, sheltered from sun and rain, with plenty of storage so things weren't in the way. Bait was $20 which sounds costly but there was plenty of it and it was great quality. No chilly bins on board so bring something to store your catch in (common sense if you fish often but it caught a few tourists out). Skipper could be a bit friendlier but he found the fish which is all that's needed I guess. Only took home 1 fish each but were kept entertained catching smaller fish and watching sharks/penguins and unintentionally feeding shags.

Great afternoon sailing around the harbour, delicious lunch cooked and great customer service. Would fully recommend this to anyone. We were even blessed to see a pod of orca's on our way back to the marina.

Absolutely frikn brilliant trip out tonight! Couldnt of gotten a better spot on the boat, awesome bunch of lads, caught so many fish from the minute we through our lines out, skipper is a crackup character straight up the guts guy! He chose the best spot it was the best night! I got two birds tangled up with my line but all the guys helped save them an me my mum an 12 yr old daughter left with a shitload of fish! Snapper an Kahawai…Wicked trip out! Definitely a hundred perc best trip yet!

My second time out with The Red Boats, this time we picked up the great value 'Family fishing day' holidays package. It only cost my three daughters $25 each for an almost full days fishing. Once onboard and wrapped up warm, we powered out past Rangitoto to set down to fishing with the provided gear. Dad spent most the day untangling lines and removing undersized snappers, but the girls learnt to fish and attach bait themselves by the end of it. Skipper was knowledgeable and patient with us noobs, unhooking the tricky fish caught and freeing a live bird that we somehow caught. We downed the cooked sausages and even used a couple as bait when we ran out. Some impressive fish were caught by others on the boat and it was a nice family feel with other kids fishing. The girls caught forty odd fish and kept several large enough to take home to impress Mum! We will be back.

Great evening. We caught so many snappers! Skipper Mike was great help to everyone as most of us were fairly new to open waters fishing. Good boat, good equipment, friendly service. All in all a great trip.

If we could give Sunkiss 6 stars it would not be enough. The quality of our adventure came down to Karen and Russell the husband and wife owner operators. They explained everything before setting off and would occasionally come and talk to everyone as we were sailing. A very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The drinks were affordably priced and the included meal was outrageously delicious. Well worth the money, highly recommend.

The entire experience was amazing. Red boat staff was very friendly & good natured. It was smooth sailing.They even have a small cafe onboard for drinks and coffee. The hostess was very jovial. The Motuihe island is highly underrated. It out of this world with beautiful ocean on either side. Information centre turns into a cute Ice cream parlor with happy hosts. One can play cricket and many other games which are kept in a basket. Clean toilets and water taps outside. The beach is very clean and it's amazing to go I the water. I would definitely plan a night camping there soon. Amazing !

I wish I could give a higher rating because you definitely deserve it! The views on the harbour sailing under the bridge was magnificent. We were lucky enough to have a great view of the fireworks display for Guy Fawkes whilst enjoying a copious and flavoursome dinner. I’ve got to say, that beef has got to be one of the best we’ve had! Dessert was fabulous too! Karen and Russel are very accomodating and lovely people. My husband and I could not recommend this cruise enough! Thank you once again and we definitely be back!

The skipper was great even though it was his first trip his commentary was very entertaining. Please arrive on time as the sun waits for no one to set. The bar was also great fun. C

My nine years old daughter and her friend had a blast! swimming at the Ocean beach, We went for a quick walk check out the Island. Beach is just stunning. Thank you The Red boats team they are super friendly, three volenteer ladies at kiosk are friendly too! We will definitely return :)

We loved our trip to Motuihe Island - the ferry staff were friendly and helpful (especially with our gear, and our youngest being seasick on the trip over) and great about pointing out interesting sights along the trip. The island itself is gorgeous and the little shop with tea/coffee/ice cream was a welcome surprise!

Actually the best boat cruise ever! Thank you Skipper Steve and your wonderful crew. From the sights, to the wine and cheese to driver Zoe and letting us choose our own tunes…best activity in Auckland

What a fantastic experience, we had so much fun!

This trip does exceed my expections. As someone who fears water, my initial plan was to kill two bird with one stone- one, challenge myself with a whole day out in the ocean; two, check my first fishing experience. It turned out that I have received more than that. Thanks to our super multitasker Michael and nature, I brought heaps of fish home and let go of some baby ones. Also I was luck enough to go on this trip with a group of big family whose song was healing and brought a positive vibe to the whole journey. You will definitely be amazed by how good Michael is in calmly helping 16 people out simultaneously as his name was called all the time to solve the fishing relevant issues. Highly recommend. Just remember to bring your music or entertainment as it takes some time travelling to where fish lives

Red Boats are amazing , will be there again.

We took my husband for a mid-week birthday trip. He was sufficiently thrilled, and suitably drenched! The driver/host was entertaining and welcoming. You really really need to bring a towel and change of clothes for afterwards. And wear a warm, waterproof jacket! Sunglasses are a great idea too

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Our driver Nate was really great! Wicked sense of humor, fantastic interactions with everyone and he handled the jet boat like a pro. The ride was exciting, thrilling and so much fun. Best to take a change of clothes though because you'll get totally drenched! My 13 year old son thinks I'm the coolest mum ever for taking us on this and he's super keen to do it again. Thanks heaps!

We decided to do the Auckland Jet for my 25th birthday. We went on the 26th of July at 11am ! Thank you for the best and wettest experience ! Both my partner and I didn’t realise how soaked we would get but thoroughly enjoyed it !

Easy to find location, ample parking, awesome driver, good fun activity for the whole family!

After going on many other Jet boats down south I wasn’t really expecting anything much different but this jet boat was the best I have ever been on. The driver was amazing and even remembered my name throughout the trip. He asked everyone on the boat at the start how wet we wanted to get so we all said very! He didn’t disappoint we got completely soaked. We had to go back to our hotel and get changed we were that wet! The spins and speed were amazing and I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Auckland!

Fantastic experience with AJ. my Guide Dee was absolutely amazing and ensured that all participants had a great time. She took great care of our safety and I had an amazing time. The views from top of the bridge is absolutely gorgeous and worth the money. Thank you Dee for giving us such a great time. I would strongly recommended this activity suitable for all ages.
