Great experience with a interesting and interested guide. It was great to be out in the water to see the landscape in a different perspective. The only downside was not seeing much in the way of wildlife - not much the company could do about that
Perfect way to explore Abel Tasman by foot and boat! Went during the off season and it was beautiful and the boat had more than enough room for the passengers!
The whole experience was amazing! The cruise was nice, with a lot of interesting information about the area and it's history. The kayak trip was a highlight of my whole trip in New Zealand. Caleb was a wonderful guide; he's incredibly pleasant and knowledgeable with a keen focus on making the trip enjoyable while ensuring that we were safe. I couldn't recommend this experience more.
Our guide Garet was excellent The group was nice. The explanation was oog. We had a good experience.
What a fabulous morning out on the Waka with Le Anne who is passionate about her heritage and culture. It was great to work as a team paddling the Waka and learning about Maori traditions and the importance of connecting with creation and one another.
We loved this track and walk, it was beautiful scenery and would highly recommended it. Great value for money.
Every thing was very well organised and explained. Rosco our guide was very good and looked after everyone very well. Was a great way of celebrating my birthday
Awesome day out in the most stunning surroundings. Kayaking was great fun & Jayfen was helpful & very entertaining, with lots of stories & anecdotes about the local area. After the boat trip to Anchorage & sighting a few seals, we walked to Cleopatra's pool through some of the lushest, most beautiful bush I've ever seen. The views were breathtaking & the dip in the water very invigorating. I probably wouldn't do the slide again though (but painful). We were blessed with ideal weather - sunshine & light breeze. Thank you Kaiteriteri Kayaks for a memorable day.
Fantastic! The guide was really nice and everything was wonderful. Definitely, we are gonna book again :)
Fab day! Alex was our guide and he was super friendly and really knowledgeable. Thanks Alex! Was a perfect pace for us. Plenty of free time and never felt rushed and felt we got a bit in. Did a wonderful walk in anchorage think it was pit head loop. Do it! Cheers Liz and Ben
Merci beaucoup Lee Anne What a special morning it was and great to learn and share some of your Maori culture. Dawn also really enjoyed it and was really appreciating you took her fear of water away. We loved the company of Theresa and her family and all her Maori influences and knowledge. It is a peaceful, cultural, interesting and fun experience we truly recommend to everyone. Huge thanks again Mihi Koe Kia Ora Cédric et Dawn
We loved this trip! From the warm welcome and informative introduction given by our guide Lee Ann, we were immersed into an unforgetable experience. Twelve of us powered this beautiful waka straight out to sea - it was windy and waves were high. It was amazing how fast we went and soon got to Split Apple Rock where we were provided with morning tea. Such a beautiful bay to spend time and some swum out to the rock. Amazing morning and over too quickly.
Had a great time! Scenery was amazing and our tour guide (Sharon) was great!! Highly recommended it!
Newly retired this was my first sea kayaking experience and I really enjoyed it. Our guide was very friendly and got to know each of our group of eight. He gave clear instructions on how to handle the kayak and off we set on our journey to Split Apple Rock. Once there he was happy to take photos of everyone. We did some fun manœuvres in the nearby caves. We enjoyed, coffee, tea, juice and cookies on the beach. All highly enjoyable. For the second part of the trip, We cruised to see seals on our way to Abel Tasman where we had ample time for a beautiful walk which included exploring both beaches and headland views through native bush before being picked up and returned back to base. The captain gave an interesting commentary on the seals and other local facts. Would definitely recommend.
We’ve had a great day and beautiful wheater. In the morning we’ve had the cruise and walked the loop at Sandy bay. We’ve seen seals at the rocks. In the afternoon we went in a group with kayaks and instructor Alex to the famous Apple rock and had a cup of tea. In short: a fantastic day!
Although the weather was cold, but it was an amazing experience for us. It was our first time kayaking and definitely will do it again. Our guide is superb too, he told us alot of the Maori history and the history around the islands. We even manage to encounter with some of the seals swimming near the stones ?
When you are in a beautiful surrounding area like Kaiteriteri you can’t imagine anything getting better than what Mother Nature has to offer. Well- Amber our Kayak tour guide made our experience above amazing! She was so knowledgable, friendly and just brought an amazing vibe to the trip. After sadly leaving Amber at the beach, we aboarded the sea shuttle where the captain was very friendly and clear on where and when we were returning. The whole experience was easy and flawless but the people made the trip more memorable! Thank you guys!!
Our guide Janelle was great, there were only 3 of us and we powered through to Split Apple Rock in no time. Complimentary drinks/biscuits were a nice touch. The water was a bit rough but we had no issues, was a nice day (not too hot!). I would say doing a half day tour is ideal as we were feeling a bit tired on the way back!
My group did the kayak tour in the morning then went to anchorage in the afternoon. This was great, as the water was calm and after a mini hike to peak hill I got to chill on the beach in the afternoon. I was traveling solo, so I shared a kayak with the tour guide Alex, he was super friendly, very knowledgeable of the surrounding area and took over the paddling when I just wanted to be lazy. If you’re staying in nelson they offer free pick up and drop off coach to your accommodation which was also a deciding factor when I was booking the tour. The driver was SUPER friendly and again made me feel comfortable as a solo traveller. I would definitely recommend.
Such a perfect day on the boat, hiking at Anchorage Bay, and kayaking with a cool group of people from all over the world. I’m happy I saw Abel Tasman all three ways!
Was a beautiful day for a kayak round split apple rock Sarah was awesome and patient with kids the boat ride was lovely and we loved anchorage bay
I HIGHLY recommend this package - it is fun, safe, -mans the views are gorgeous!! My day started with FREE pick up by the Kaiteriteri kayak bus in Nelson, and a nice scenic drive out to the beach. The first half of the day we went out kayaking - we were lucky to have perfect conditions, and I was blown away by the green water and golden beaches! We stopped out by Split Apple Rock for a free biscuit and juice :) When we were back to the beach, we boated out past some seals before landing at Anchorage. We took a self-guided 1.5hr walk with INCREDIBLE VIEWS, then sunbathed on the beach until the boat arrived. Free bus transfer back to Nelson.
Great adventure. Our guides were superb - friendly, supportive and knowledgable. We all enjoyed it very much and recommend it to anyone who is not afraid of water, as waves on the sea can make some more excited and some more anxious. Great views of the coastline make it truly an unforgettable day.
Fantastic tour guide ! Great day out and got to see some cool animals and learn some fun facts.
Mark is an awesome and super friendly guide. We had great time in this trip.Definitely will recommend it to others.
OMG this kayaking trip was amazing. I loved every minute of it. We were paired together (if not already), given tips on how to kayak, given our gear, shown the safety aspect. And then it was time to go! We paddled along with stories filling the silence, then we stopped halfway at a beach to have a drink and some biscuits, before heading back. Excellent guide A+ would do this again
Well organised tour company, everything went smoothly from start to finish, modern boats well maintained. Can’t go wrong with Abel Tasman park, beautiful scenery and unspoiled. Need to have a moderate level of fitness to enjoy any of the walking trails.
We absolutely loved this trip - it was a great deal and brilliant way to squeeze nearly a full day in the middle of the park in only 1 day by boating in and out. The details on the deal / website were a bit light when I booked so I was surprised to find it was more like a 9am - 4pm trip. Luckily we had extra time so it was fine. And well worth it. You board the boat in Kaiteriteri (either a launch or a small taxi depending on number of people - we had the small taxi which some didn't enjoy, and had no toilet), but it was a great calm day and the crew are just as professional and informative giving the same tour and commentary on the way. They will stop by a few sights on the way up to drop you at Medlands beach, 10mins walk to Bark Bay. You then walk the middle part of the track down to a pickup at Anchorage. There is plenty of spare time for stops on the way. You can arrange them to provide a lunch box for you or a pickup in Motueka, but I can't comment on these as we didn't use them. We'd definitely recommend this tour to get into the middle of the park if you only have a short time in the area.
Very friendly and informative guided tour. Cam took us to some beautiful spots. The kayak tour was at a good pace, equipments were in really good condition.
A great way to see Abel Tasman Park and surrounds. Murray, our driver/guide, was very helpful and informative. The short walk was very good for people like myself who don't do long tramps. The forest was invigorating and there was a waterfall and beautiful beach at the end. There was plenty of time to enjoy Barks Bay before walking to the next bay for pickup.
Amazing trip. If you only have one day to experience the Abel Tasman NP, this trip is for you. The walk was fairly easy with few uphill. If you are fit, you can finish it in an hour and have plenty of time on the beach. The Bark Bay was beautiful and not as busy as Totatranui. There was a waterfall too. Staff were lovely as well.
A fantastic day out from start to finish - outstanding staff who couldn't do enough for you. Made me proud to be a kiwi seeing such a slick operation showing off our beautiful country and giving everyone an outstanding experience.
