Excellent Staff - but need more of them!
We were at Bendix Stables on a busy Saturday evening. There were lots of tables, some inside but mostly outside. Only two waitresses were on that evening. We sat inside and saw just how busy they were, and several times they had to deal with customers that were a bit rude - which they handled admirably. One waitress had her food sitting on the bar the entire time we were there - they were so busy she did not have a chance to take her break and eat! They were also courteous to us the entire time and did not seem stressed at all, although I'm sure they were. I don't know if they were understaffed due to Covid or if this was normal. If the latter, I suggest that the owner hire another person for busy Saturday evenings - or at least make sure their existing staff are paid handsomely. The food was okay. It was competent and we were happy with what we got for the BookMe price, but I don't think we would've been happy had we paid full price. The portions are reasonably large though. It's fine for food from a pub but we'd been expecting a bit better as the name "Bendix Stables" sounded quite fancy! It was fine, just nothing special.

Great food, friendly staff !
Good food done well. Crispy squid with crunchy bean sprouts, tasty hoi sin duck wrapped in a fluffy bao, mushroomy arancini cigars, sweet pork belly burger and two very happy kids spag bols (chunky spaghetti covered in bolognese sauce with squiggles of cheese). Adjective to the lawn, kids run free whilst outdoor patrons drink cold beers. The perfect Arrowtown venue for a relaxed weekend.

Cosy place to eat
We went to this restaurant on a cool night and found a lovely warm place to sit inside. We had a few tasty small dishes to eat and our kids had chicken nuggets and spaghetti bol. All our dishes arrived quickly and staff were friendly and attentive. Would recommend this place
