    Fantastic even in the rain!

Our entire stay in Queenstown was dampened by wet weather but we still decided to go ahead with our bookings. The guides were entertaining and very helpful and the rapids were great (higher than usual from the rain) When we arrived the wetsuit was dry and a nice warm shower at the end made the whole experience very comfortable. Soo many layers of wetsuit so the water was actually quite nice! Would definitely recommend you do this activity while in Queenstown!

    Brilliant Kawarua Rafting

Rafting on the Kawarau with Jonesy as our instructor was AWESOME! We give Jonesy 5 stars but the overall rating is 4 starts (only because there were no photos of our amazing experience). Thanks to everyone for making it such a great morning of fun !!

A fun trip down the river

We really enjoyed the trip down the river. The guides were awesome and everything was well organized. The only down side was the cost of the video...$60 was a bit steep and because we were leaving from Arrowtown and not going back to Queenstown, we did not have an opportunity to view the footage. This was very disappointing. The trip was expensive and I wouldn't mind paying some extra for the video... say $20 but NOT $60. It was not like it required any effort for anyone to take the footage as the camera is just mounted on the raft. Too bad.....

From Go Orange - Kawarau River Rafting

Thanks for your review. Our Kawarau River trip is ideal for first time rafters or suited to those looking for a more relaxed rafting experience as stated in all our marketing material. It is grade 2-3, so in that respect your review is 5 star, as no not that much action and we have great guides. Perfect! Maybe our Shotover River trip grade 4-5 would have suited you better?

    Fun Day!

This was our first rafting experience so we opted for the Kawarau river. We were taken by bus from the city center to the location where we were given wetsuits and a helmet and then walked down to our kick-off spot. I'm not a very confident swimmer which I informed our guide about, and he took care to ensure that I didn't feel unsafe at any point during the trip. Paddling the raft does require quite some strength! We didn't get to experience the cliff jump, unfortunately, as it was high tide. We were allowed to swim in the river, though and had a lot of fun while at it. Pictures are not taken during the rafting experience, some parts are video recorded by your raft lead but the video can be quite pricey.
