Christine Denne said... I remember visiting Whaka some 60 years ago and haven't been back since. This time I went with my husband and sister. I was pleasantly surprised - saw lots of geothermal activity and my husband appreciated the many seats scattered around the track to give us time to sit and take in the scenery. Although his health didn't allow him to walk up the steep hill to the 3 lookouts my sister and I made the effort and were well rewarded with the great views over the village, hot pool and out over Lake Rotorua.
