Departing from Bayfair in Mount Maunganui we set off for a fun day to experience Māori culture and the beautiful sights around Whakatāne and Ōhope.

On arrival at Mataatua Marae in Whakatāne, you will be formally welcomed into this sacred space and wowed by an amazing ancestral house light show. Here you will be treated to a traditional Māori feast for lunch.

Continuing on we will stop at a lookout to enjoy the fabulous views over the Bay Of Plenty coastline before enjoying some time exploring Ōhope Beach.

We return to Mount Maunganui via the small town of Maketū which is the landing place of the Te Arawa canoe. Enjoy a stroll along the shore which overlooks an estuary and protected bird colony.

Your journey concludes at Bayfair in Mount Maunganui around 4pm where you are given a $10 voucher each to be used that day atIzakai Bar & Eatery.
