A highlight was sitting "next to" a cheetah as it lounged beside a glass barrier in the wet weather. It was wonderful to be so close to an animal, knowing it wasn't drugged or being forced to do something against its will.
We spoke to a couple of keepers and were blown away by their friendliness and vast knowledge of not just their own animals but of the natives and conservation issues and programs beyond the zoo.
