TQ said... If you have kids, it’s a good place to spend a day at Butterfly Creek with the All Areas pass.
Pretty much has what it advertises and something for every kid (and adult who is young at heart).
The mechatronic (and static) dinosaurs were really good, at least more realistic than one would expect to keep. There were more than enough farm (and other) animals (including kiwis and skinks) to keep the kids exited. The train takes you around the sights. The highlights were the crocodile feeding and the butterflies. There are also the tarantulas, which are rare to see in this part of world.
The cons were not many. The major one is price. Even the family pass is expensive. At least under 3 is free! Bookme prices for All Areas Pass are 50% off but only for some weekdays, so that might be the best way to go. Other cons were the train did costs $3 each and was only a short ride of two rounds. Else the fish and insect displays were a tad barren.
Overall, worth at least visiting once...with the kids.
