Le guide est sympathique et le ratio visiteurs/guide rend l'expérience unique et enrichissante. On en apprend pas seulement sur les vers luisants. Je recommande!
We were able to see the Kiwis up close and they're night enclosure as they fed them. A really awesome thing to experience . The bird sanctuary is clean and blush with beautiful vegetation to house these incredible animals.
Had a brilliant day, beautiful weather. Kids really enjoyed eels being fed
Great way to learn about, not only Kiwi, but other NZ wildlife... We stayed for the talk in the kiwi night house. The lady was a wealth of knowledge!! Only thing I would say could be improved on was, needed more air ventilation/cooling in the viewing corridor where you see the Kiwi’s... When a lot of people are in there listening to the talk, it can get a bit stifling... My children had to go and sit outside while the lady was talking because of this... But other than that, it was great!! Thank you!!
i loved it when it was feeding times for the kiwis. theres a 20ish year old one and it nibbles at the keeper that was funny. and a wood pigeon that was friendly and it came up close to say hello.
Came specially for the kiwi and it's all worth it. #nzmustdo
We had a fun time watching the kiwi bird running around in the display room and attacking the kiwi keeper while feeding. Many native birds in the park. Staffs are kind and helpful. However the park is rather small.
Thanks for an awesome trek. Definitely recommend and we will be back!
A MUST DO if you like crafting! It's the most enjoyable and rewarding activity I've payed for in 5 months spent travelling around New Zealand! You'll know everything about the blacksmith job and how a forge works. Rob and Arja take a great care to make sure you feel good, the atmosphere is familial and the food was absolutely delicious! I've spent a full day with Rob, We've made a fantastic sturdy Khukuri knife and I really did a lot of it myself. It's greatly rewarding to leave with your own creation.
This day tour was one of the best day in my New Zealand trip! Hobbiton and glowworm cave were both really awesome and unforgettable experiences. Our guide was really fun and nice. Definately worth of the money!
My partner and I were total beginners, but Nicole made sure we both felt comfortable and knew what to do. The farm is beautiful and there's some nice variety on the track (hills, bridges, etc.) to keep things interesting for two hours. We stopped for a snack, including fresh spring water and homemade bread. Overall a really lovely experience. Would definitely recommend!
It was the best ride I've had in a long time. The horses were awesome, the nature incredible (there are some spots where they shot a scene for The Hobbit) and Nicole was really nice. When you book through this site and are an experienced rider make sure to give Nicole a call before you go do you don't end up in a beginner's group. This way you'll be able to trot and race up the mountains as well. You definitely leave with a smile on your face
I would highly recommend this activity to anyone. Nicole is a great teacher and makes you feel welcome and safe from the very beginning. The horses are beautiful and very friendly. Not to mention the track gives you access to the most surreal, relaxing scenery. 10/10, we loved it!
This was the most wonderful experience you can imagen! With Nicole and Shawn who told us about their life and about NZ history while riding in beautiful the surondigns we couldn´t have wish for more. The horses were very nice and we loved their dog, Luk who came with us on our tour. Thanks a lot and an extra tanks for the cold and lovely milk!!!
Very pleasant trip to Hobbiton, bus ride from City to Hobbiton and Ruakuri's very informative and entertaining. The driver is very polite. Trip to Hobbiton is worth it! No hassles at all, and the buffet at the Green Dragon pub was great and something to look forward to as well. Ruakuri Cave tour was very enjoyable. Only downside was that we had to wait for a longer time for the bus taking us back to Auckland - and we are not even sure who we should look for or who we are waiting for if not for the lovely lady driver who was taking the other group to Rotorua. All in all, it was a great experience and must try tour while in auckland.
An excellent adventure from start to finish. Nick made us very welcome at check-in and ramped up our excitement. Then we set off with the friendly Joel who was super safety conscious but still maintained the fun and excitement. We abseiled down waterfalls, crawled through gaps we thought we'd never get through, rocked climbed and saw wonderous natural formations, and of course glowworms. Joel was very knowledgeable - there wasn't a question he couldn't answer and gave us so much interesting information on everything! Would definitely recommend, and would love to return another day for more adventures.
Every tourist and new zealander visiting Waitomo should definitely try this. Very exciting cave, loved the absailing and rock climbing. The guides Chao and Kenny were absolutely outstanding and made the attraction so much better. Will definitelytry to do it again with other friends.
We spent 3 weeks in North and South island and this was the best activity we did. A small group of just 2 of us got the chance to squeeze through tiny gaps and duck underwater to get through certain places all whilst being in an environment covered in glow worms. It was an excellent mix of scenic and scary. We had Chan and Luke guiding us and they even let us do extra challenges again because we enjoyed them so much. Would recommend to anyone in the area.
Physically and mentally challenging, but incredible, well-experienced and knowledgeable guides helping us along. At each challenge they were telling you what you needed to do, or where you needed to put your feet, or what to hold onto. We felt safe, and well-supported, and finished the day with a full tummy; incredulous that we had achieved such an amazing adventure! Tips for the girls: take a hair tie if your hair is long, and wear long sleeved polyprops under the wetsuit if you feel the cold.
This adventure was at the top of the list for us. We spent 2 weeks in New Zealand visiting both the north and south islands and this was the most fun adventure we had. Our guides Kenny and Teri were phenomenal. Skillful, knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and funny! They went out of their was to ensure we had the most fun possible, but always making sure we were safe. At no point did we ever feel scared or worried. This is a must do for anyone with an adventurous soul. We highly recommend it if you are visiting the north island.
My friend and I initally thought of doing the Lost World 4 hour experience. After learning the 7 hour Epic adventure, we decided to go all out and have never looked back. This 7 hour experience is really EPIC and worth all time and energy invested. Most of the time is spent in water and navigating through rocks in the cave which those who did the 4-hour wont get to experience. In fact, we felt that, except for the abseiling, the experience would be sub-par for those who did the 4 hour one. If you take a look at the photo, the 4 hour tour ends at the ladder and you do a bit of a hike above ground. Truely grateful to be able to be do the 7 hour epic. It does requires some level of fitness and you can do it slow and steady. Our group was able to be ahead of schedule and thus, we get to do a couple more stuff in the cave. In total, there are 3 spots to sit down and rest to see the glow worms (the first spot is where the 4 hour tour ends, the other 2 spots are only available in the 7 hour epic as they are in the caves and they are far better than the first spot) The guides were very experience and were very safety conscious. Thank tou for making this experiece so great for us.
If there is a tour that you should do, this is it! Very enjoyable, extremely professional team with a great sense of humor and even better service! Due to bad weather the cave was flooded, but I was quickly given a (possibly better) alternative. The tour is a perfect mix between being a good challenge and still remaining very safe, the guides know exactly what they are doing and I never felt at any risk. Absolute highlight of my time in new zealand!
It was a great day to explore the caves with an amazing guide, TK. Abseiling was just amazing, would love to to back to do the 7 hr tour in future!!
Had a wonderful day abseiling into the caves and slowly climbing my way out. The leaders were very experienced and helped my companions who'd never abseiled before enjoy the adventure too. I would highly recommend this.
Great adventure. Felt very safe with two good guides. Fantastic glowworms, exciting abseiling and a good climb 30 meters up a vertical ladder.
Amazing adventure regardless of weather this is some of north islands best hidden geological formations.
I booked the lost world 4 hour tour with my partner for a 30th birthday gift to myself. We got super lucky, because It turned out that no one else had booked for the tour that day, and it was just the two of us and our guide in the cave so we literally got our own private tour of the lost world. It was a truly amazing experience. The weather was perfect, with just a light drizzle of rain that made everything misty and even more magical. Joel was a fantastic guide; he made us feel completely at ease and was a lot of fun to hang out with.
I thoroughly recommend doing this especially in the off season I was the only one on this particular day it was an amazing drive out there my guide TK? Or TJ or .. I’m sorry I forget his nickname but he was a great guy with a fantastic manner and took his time to show me all this wonderland had to offer. Stepping up to the abseil platform my guts churned my pulse quickened and after a safety briefing he said ... now swing over and place your butt on the beam over the deep cavern below ?? It was everything that was advertised and more such an amazing prehistoric world down there ... so your self a favor and jump into the 100 mtr deep abyss and savor every moment Thanks guys for an amazing time Glenn South Australia ???
Waitomo Adventures is a great family-run operator. The staff is very friendly and nice! I was scared of sitting in the void at first, but the tour started with a round of practice to get used to the gear, and our instructor's explanations and professionalism helped me do it. Once started, it is pure beauty, fun and excitement! The 100ù abseil was gorgeous and awesome, and climbing the 30m ladder back up was challenging, and everything in the middle was so cool. I LOVED it! Really recommend. The photos taken by Iain are a great souvenir. Don't hesitate, I believe this is accessible to most people - you need a minimum fitness but average like is no problem! Enjoy!
It really was the lost world, something you would imagine from Jurrasic Park. Hubby and I were the only people booked on the 4hr experience so it was essentially a private tour. I have a very basic level of fitness and whilst I felt challenged, it was a comfortable level of challenge. The abseil itself was great, once explained and you start your descent you see for yourself its not complicated and doesnt rely on strength. Once in the cave itself the magic begins as you can see where you have been and where you now are, puts the size of the cave into perspective. The 30m vertical ladder climb out is not for the faint hearted but there is a hauling mechanism if your arms are feeling tired. We really enjoyed this experience and that it was a day tour as I dont like cold water. An absolute must do, bucket list item. The photos taken are amazing. Very happy!
I am 65yo and just had to do it. It was one of the best things I have done. You need a bit of stamina as a bit like "Raiders of the Lost Ark" territory being in the cave. I have been in quite a few caves but this one is like no other, it is a fantastic experience. I have never abseiled before so what an awesome way to begin. I felt very safe and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Chris my guide was one great dude to be with. This tour has the Wow factor from start to finish. Exiting the cave up a 30m vertical ladder really gets the heart pumping but they can help pull you up as you are attached to a safety rope. Just do it is my view as you will have an experience of a lifetime.
A fantastic trip from start to finish. It was just myself and my husband in our group and we had the most amazing time with our guide, TK. The best bit was definitely the abseil but we saw glow worms and went on a hike through the cave too. Be prepared for the mission up the ladders at the end :)
This tour was amazing. A truly amazing way to view the glow worms and have an adventure. Our guide was funny and took us on some side quests that were a fun challenge
We had Joel take us on the lost world tour and it was amazing! The whole place is simply breathtaking, no photo can do it justice, although we had a good few taken for us that look awesome! Couldn't recommend this trip or having Joel as a guide enough!
