A Fantastic and awesome horse ride through magnificent and beautiful scenery, fabulous staff a must do!?

From the lovely bus driver to the knowledgeable guide and well looked after horses, this guided trail ride is one of the best I’ve experienced. The back drop of mountains, rivers and forests is best appreciated on a horse!

The High Country Horses, Rees River Trail was such a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, our trail guide was lovely and had a lot of knowledge of the surrounding area and the horses themselves. I would definitely suggest taking gloves and warm socks though, it was very cold on a horse in winter, especially when you're in the shade. There were warm socks at the stables that could be purchased if need be. Horses looked well looked after and had plenty of food and grass to graze.

Loved the trip - expensive of course but totally worth it for the time saved and the fantastic views from the plane!! The flight was even better than the cruise! The crew from True South Flights was really friendly and professional. Fully recommend!

I booked this experience for my family of 4 as my 11yo daughter loves animals, with the expectation that she’d enjoy it and our 14yo son would think it was just ok. I was wrong! We all had so much fun and really enjoyed our visit and ended up staying for around 1.5 hours. The staff were really friendly, the views amazing and the animals so damn cute. Would definitely recommend a visit, especially with the discounted tickets via Bookme.

A great drive and spent a good hour at the farm feeding animals and having a good yarn with the owners. Great even for master 8 and 10 to enjoy.

not huge but big enough to spend more than an hours time there with the friendly animals! my 8 year and the adults together had so much fun and got so many fun photos!

Fun experience for the kids. Great to feed the farm animals and see the sheep shearing. Nice hosts. Our little one 3 years old wanted to cuddle the bunnies and was a little disappointed they were in pens he couldn't go into. But he cuddled and kissed all 3 dogs who were very approachable. Good fun.

Well set up, working farm, lambs and llamas were the highlights, just gorgeous

They offer free sheep shearing show. There are a variety of animals and you can get close to them. It is really good value activity

Been to few farm before and quite expensive yet not much of animal and some is behind the fence. But this is real farm experience they have multiple animal and all of them together surrounded me without any fence and I can feed them and pet them!You will still see some animal is behind the fence but doesn't really matter as most of them is out of fence. Also they have sheep shearing show and lovely owner. Highly recommend! You will not regret .

Dave, you are amazing!!! A very knowledgeable, joker and a very kind tour guide. We request to drop by animal experience as we are the only family on the tour and wish granted!!! He makes sure that we enjoy and safe on our travel. Journey was so beautiful and i learn a lot on the places we went and about Glenorchy. Highly recommended!!!

Really fun place to take kids but great for anyone of any age! Lot of animals that you can get up and close and personal to, you can feed most of the animals and interact with them in the field. Also a lot of smaller animals like rabbits and Guinea pigs.

Great experience with the animals, the owners were very friendly. The sheering event was awesome.

The view is breathtaking. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The animals are cute and wonderful and you can feed some without the fences. Watching the sheep shearing was just a unique experience.

We're enjoy the Animals and view. It looks like we walk in our own farm. Nice and friendly owner. Very close to Queenstown, just 45 min. Drive. We will go back again.

Highly recommended! Being my second time to Glenorchy, first time drive by myself which is soooo difficult when I gets the off-road area. Absolutely wise to Use 4WD instead of normal car to go in there plus This truck / bus is so cool. Our driver is very nice, being informative so I can see many different things compare to the first time I went by myself. And lots of important photo spots! It also has Commentary on board which got different languages versions and it suits both me and my non-English speaking mother! This trip even has a nice warm afternoon tea provided :) Animal experience is the other reason I choose this trip, not too many trip do both Glenorchy and animal experience. I just love the animal experience there! All in all, very professional trip, highly recommended.! and we thank you MR U for that lovely afternoon with me and my mother!

Great experience with one to one local farm owners. You get to feed the animals and go in with them if wanted which definitely made it a better experience than others I’ve been too. Definitely best alpaca and farm experience I’ve been to in NZ!

This was so much fun - you get to walk around in beautiful scenery feeding alpacas and piggies and donkeys etc. Can go at your own pace and get right in with some of the animals wowow. Highly recommend ❤️

1st time discovering Glenorchy, the farm animal experience was purely amazing. The owner is passionate & so kind. We felt so gtateful to be closed to those beautiful animal with a breathtaking landscape background. 100% recommand!

Awesome experience..

Always such a beautiful experience at GAE with rob and the team! My girlfriend and I went together and had the whole place to ourselves! Rob even let us feed the possums which was awesome! Never gets boring being able to interact with the animals! A must do day out with friends, family or even on your own when coming to Queenstown.

This was definitely a unique experience. We got followed around by alpacas, kicked and jumped on by sheep wanting food and hand fed most of the animals while getting a great view of the mountains. It was fun and definitely worth checking out if visiting Glenorchy.

Kids and ourselves had Great day out feeding all the farm animals. And seeing the baby spring lambs and the gorgeous scenery a bonus. Highly recommend.

We entered this secluded farm, a bit hesitant thinking maybe it's only for kids. The host was very welcoming & the layout of the farm is very interactive with an open space to walk around with the sheep and also controlled with pigs and alpacas in the gates as well. We went during winter so no sheep shearing, looking forward to returning in summer! Highly recommend 6 stars experience :D

Very warm and welcoming owners! Stumbled upon this when browsing through fun activities to do near Queenstown and it exceeded our expectations. Went in a group of 5 and we had such an amazing time! The animals are very friendly and will approach you, we also had this beautiful view of snowcapped mountains! Highly recommend to anyone!

A beautiful experience, lovely healthy animals, beautiful property and views! We were lucky to see newborn lambs, and a great and informative sheep shearing display. My 8yo daughter did NOT want to leave!

Overall, my wee boys loved the experience and for them it was well worth it. The animals are very well looked after and you can see the people taking care of them has a passion for their job. The farm was also well kept and had spectacular views. The sheep shearing was also very informative once again a hit with our boys. Animals are tame and friendly. The whole experience will take you about 1-1:30 hours including the shearing.

The team here are so welcoming my group felt like home. This is by far the best the best experience of our trip, we arrived and despite weather conditions it was still the BEST!!! the animals are so well trained, the staff are soooo lovely and absolutely enjoyed every bit. Worth the long drive and the last minute booking too! I would definitely come back again! ❤️ If you are contemplating to go, I 100% recommend!!!!

The most beautiful and maintained farm experience we have been to. The owners are super friendly and helpful. The animals are incredibly friendly and non intimidating like some other farm experiences. Was very impressed how kid safe it was and how breathtaking the surrounding scenery was. Definitely worth visiting. The drive alone to Gleborchy is amazing.

We had an awesome afternoon in this beautiful farm which situated minutes away from Glenorchy township. Our 7 years old rated the best activity overall during our Queenstown visit and eager to visit again in the future. Super friendly hosts and lovely farm animals to interact with. Great to be able to watch the sheep shearing show too! Highly recommended to families with young children and all animal lovers.
