Less than an hour from Queenstown (where we were staying), easy to find with good parking. We had booked well in advance in planning our trip but on the day there were plenty of options to sit. If you get there early, grab a coffee from the Cafe- but there are no 'facilities ' on the train so make sure you go first 😉. Lovely scenery and good commentary (providing the whistle isn't blowing) Friendly helpful staff. Fantastic photo/video opportunity at Fairlight to see the engine move to the front again. Remember to get a Crunchie Bar at Fairlight! Thanks to BookMe and One/Vodafone Rewards, the trip for two adults cost less than the price of one!
Any steam train lover like my self will love to ride on the Kingston Flyer. The current owners and staff are doing their best to keep the train running after years of being abandoned to rust and rot. More needs restored so buying a trip will help keep this Lakes District Icon running. I thank the owners for doing all they have so far!
This Milford Cruise was the highlight of our trip! We were lucky enough to have amazing weather, despite the drizzly trip there. Boarding the boat, we were greeted by lovely staff with big smiles. The skipper, Edward, was very chatty along the way and his knowledge of the area was amazing! He was very funny and witty which made the experience even better. Jucy Cruises / Pure Milford is something I will recommend to everyone I know!
Wow! These off roaders are tough and full of power! From the scenery to the performance of the LTV's on the the terrain, it was thrilling! Weather gear was provided too. Kent the operator is awesome! Kent made us feel safe, showed us around the track, then left us to tear the track up on our own! Seriously fun! What are you waiting for? Book it!!!
Great fun and value for money. Really cool machines and an interesting track design, would definitely go back again. Owner is friendly, down to earth and a good laugh. Highly recommend!
What an experience for the family. Great host and yes you get really muddy but the smile on our kids (20-23 years old) was awesome. Even a week later we were still laughing at the photos and the driving experience the two boys had was amazing and they have recommended it to anyone that is heading down to Queenstown.
Location is 45 minutes drive from Queenstown. We were dreading the drive to their location but it was actually okay. I had fun revving up the engine while my partner was hanging on to her seat and shouting in excitement as well. It was a cloudy/sunny day and we still got a little muddy/dusty so make sure to bring a washcloth and water to clean yourself with as there is nothing to wash with on site.
Queenstown had a ton of rain the night before our trip. Kent liaised with us on the day to come out a bit earlier while the sun shining! We had a safety briefing and a ride around the track where Kent would give us tips. Then we were let loose, Kent was relaxed and made us feel comfortable to make the most of the experience. So much fun. Thanks Kent!
We loved this activity and the host was very nice and had a few laughs before setting off on the self drive track. Highly recommend this if your ever in Queenstown!
Absolutely loved it, I’m off to buy one!!!
My husband had barely smiled all morning until we got here. You couldn't wipe the smile from his face for the rest of the day after this. The south island sure know how to have fun. These go fast and handle beautifully. A really well laid out track. I went around with hubby twice and had to bail as he was too fast for me. I really recommend this to anyone wanting an experience they won't forget in a hurry in such an amazing setting. We will be booking in again next time we return to the region. This is not a farm quad bike it's the real deal. Come prepared for thrills and fun! Thanks for having us
If you dnt mind getting muddy then you have to give it a go.
I came here with my husband and he loved it so much. Worth the ride and getting out there.
Great fun! Kent was awesome 😊
Exhilarating experience. Really nice and friendly staff.
This was great fun and the track was better than anticipated. Took a while to find the location but just follow the x signs and it's easy. Would definitely do this again.
Such an incredible experience! I had a way bigger adrenaline rush than with the hydroattack or the Shotover Jet. Kent is a great guy and a really good driver too. He showed us what's possible with those buggys and this blew my mind. Never imagined this craziness. We could try it as well (of course slower) and it's thrilling! Definitely one of the best activities in Queenstown I did and I tried almost everything. Fully recommended!
Husband had been amped to do this one. He really loved it. Definitely be back again when we're in town again. So much fun!
Incredible and patient service from Captain Simon led to a delightful morning for myself and my two sons. We went to a cove with no other boats for miles around and caught quite a few large fish. He was very patient with our boys and they had a blast.
Our first helicopter ride, it was such an experience. Will def do it again. Longer would be icing on the cake. Highly recommended.
Amazing venue and beautiful day we had to explore Walter Peak Station. The food was incredible and we could have easily spent more time there. Totally recommend !!
My family and I had so much fun with this experience for my birthday yesterday!! From the TSS Earnslaw ride with lovely and chill music playing at the background (the lady playing the piano was amazing and talented). At the Walter Peak, I was completely in awe of its beauty. I just wish i had time to walk around the place as time was hectic in this activity. The farm show was fun too, those farm dogs were amazing! And finally, the BBQ BUFFET LUNCH! That was super delicious! Overall I would rate it as 10/10. Super happy with the experience!
What a great day perfect weather gpot to see the workings of the Earnslaw and the welcome from Walter Peak Station was fantastic .....lunch was devine
Absolutely loved this steamboat trip with gourmet BBQ and shearing demonstration. We didn't expect much as booked spontaneously online but we loved the old fancy boat, the pianist on the boat set the scene, too but was just outstanding was the buffet BBQ. We're gonna dream about that for months or even years to come. The restaurant was in such a break spot as well. Highly recommended!
We used the book.me site to get the $65 deal for the Earnslaw cruise and Walter Peak Station lunch. It was a fabulous experience and the barbecue lunch was absolutely fantastic. The most tender meat including Canterbury lamb, roast pork, beef, designer sausages and chicken. There was a wide range of salads and hot vegetables. Cold meats, olives, cheeses and then the most gorgeous array of desserts. The boat trip was lovely and included at Walter Peak was a display of working farm dogs herding some sheep. A fantastic experience which I would recommend highly.
Such a wonderful experience, superb dining and loads of good company. Will definitely coming back to do this again.
Fantastic Dinner.Nice atmosphere. I love the desserts here.
One of the highlights of our trip.
So amazing. The views on the earnslaw on the way out are fantastic. The boat is beautiful, farm tour great for those visiting New Zealand. If your from NZ then you’ve seen a sheep being sheared but still cool. Finally the food was delicious!! We had the lunch and we loved it.
What a fab way to spend 4 hours. Cruising aboard the 1912 Steamship - TSS Earnslaw (launched the same year as the Titanic - with a better outcome!) - sail to Walter Peak Station- then a magnificent sit down ( in a comfortable restaurant) BBQ lunch smorgasbord. A glass of wine and desert and a wall of candy to finish. Then a seat on the beach or admire the cottage gardens ( grown in the mild microclimate of this area) or experience some sheep shearing. So easy and enjoyable. Highly recommended.
What wonderful way to experience Queenstown and the Lake. The TSS Earnslaw boat trip and BBQ lunch was a brilliant experience, assisted by the calm, sunny day that we had. The trip gave us the opportunity to travel on a beautifully restored boat to Walter Peak Station and then be able to wander around the well kept, beautiful gardens and grounds before an outstanding lunch. Due to COVID restrictions the BBQ buffet lunch was replaced with a buffet to table service which I think was even better experience wise. Attentive service from our wait staff and some great local wine made it for a wonderful lunch. Time after to wander around the grounds, check out some of the "pet" livestock and a quick introduction to how sheep dogs do their job made it a great afternoon. Highly recommended.
Lovely trip. Sister time really enjoyed afternoon tea dog trials.Overcast day but still great.
