I had a great time on the tour yesterday. Totaranui beach wasn’t as amazing as it’s hyped up to be but still a beautiful beach. Karin is so knowledgeable about nz history, fauna and flora. Takaka was a great lunch stop, lots of nice shops and a Saturday market, great food places. The springs at the end were wonderful.
I highly recommend the team at Kahu Kayaks we had an awesome day.
We had a great time and the experience tour guide helped us a lot all the way through. Highly recommended
Staff are friendly and our day was perfect.
We had a spectacular time on our morning guided Kayak tour - couldn’t have asked for better. Jess our guide (along with everyone at Kahu Kayaks, who were all super friendly) was brilliant, looked after us so we’ll, and made sure we had a fun & interesting time. The weather was in our favour, and we really enjoyed a good couple of ours paddling around the coast, and some time on the secluded beaches & bays too. Can’t recommend it highly enough!
Fantastic experience and Brad been very helpful and he also provided us the best route. We spotted many seals and visited both islands. We stopped at beach for snacks and water and almost a nap. Highly recommend!
LOVED our experience with Kahu Kayaks. We did the freedom kayak tour and had a double kayak all day with freedom to explore the park. We spent the day kayaking up to empty golden beaches, chilling in the sun and swimming in the sea. We even saw some baby seals on the rocks and swimming by our kayaks. Kahu were great too, shout out to Brad for his amazing intro and tips to help us feel safe, comfortable and get the most out of our day! Kayaks were in amazing condition and the price was the best I’d seen around. Definitely recommend!
Our guide Brad was super patient with our kids age 9 and 11. He made our Kayaking one of the most memorable experience ever. Anyone wanting to try Kayaking should definitely make a booking with Kahu Kayaks. We will be back next year.
Fantastic day out, the kayak was very stable (mind you the sea was very flat!) Great price too. Looses a star as we had not been told where to aim for on the low tide return pickup.
Everything were beautiful. We are very happy with the experience
Brad was great. The whole thing was easy. Such a great experience!
Cecelia was super kind with us, the lunch was very good. Everything was very professionAl.
Absolutely stunning views, one of the best things we have done on our 3 week holiday. Louisa the guide was really great.
Perfect day for the perfect tour! Highly recommend it. Garreth was an awesome tour guide and shared lots of facts about the park. Towards the end, we even did a bit of “sailing” with our kayaks which was really fun! Thank you and we will be back again for sure!
We started the day with an unguided 3.5 hour walk along the coast. Beautiful scenery, but it was quite tiring towards the end, pretty flat all the way though. We then had a picnic lunch on the beach which was provided by our kayaking guide. We were briefed on how to kayak and then we were off! Was really nice to be able to kayak around and see the sea lions, as well as some babies. Quite a tiring day, I certainly slept well after. But definitely worth it.
Great service! Our guide Josh did a great job on the tour. Nice info about the area and good general assistance. We were also able to do a bit of sailing, which was great!
This was the highlight of our trip! Our guide, Travis, was amazing, he was very likeable and positive and made sure we had an amazing time. He took us to see the seal colony, made us coffee and tea and knew all of the best places to stop for lunch. He also tried sailing with us on the way back and showed us how to surf the waves with our kayak! The best part of our trip for sure! Definitely worth the money! Couldn't recommend it more!
What a bummer it happened to be the only day of the week that rained the whole day we’re here. But getting to see so many seals also made the time worthwhile. our guide Nadia has been an absolute gem :) She tried her best to make the positives out of the day, being patient as it was our first time kayaking, v informative abt the various islands and native animals and sensitive to our needs as it got cold in the rain. Goofy brownies were a good call, well done Abel Tasman Kayaks!
The weather was great and we had a great time. We had a lovely guide!
Really enjoyed the guided kayak to split apple rock. The weather was great and the coastline beautiful. We saw some Wray fish, star fish, Oyster Catchers and Shags. Enjoyed a picnic on beach and swim in the sea. Explored beach rocks and lagoon. Thank you ti Quinn for a great morning.
Every thing was very well organised and explained. Rosco our guide was very good and looked after everyone very well. Was a great way of celebrating my birthday
Fantastic! The guide was really nice and everything was wonderful. Definitely, we are gonna book again :)
Wow. We loved that this was a family business as we definitely felt they wanted the best for us. The weather wasn’t meant to be great but they kept in touch and gave us a number of options. Luckily we managed to get out with a guide who was amazing. Tom was English and only having been here less than 4 years had a mountain of knowledge about the area and the Māori connections.
R&R Kayaks were brilliant. From front desk to safety briefing, drop off to pick up - super friendly and helpful! Tom was awesome. Great knowledge of the area, where to go, what to see and do. His enthusiasm was contagious and his sense of humour also put us at ease. I really appreciated his use of Te Reo casually thrown in as well. Kia ora. Equipment including the Kayaks were great. More comfortable and roomy than I expected. As for the day out on the water.... Spectacular! We couldn't have asked for a more amazing day out. The day was overcast, the waters calm and warm, the sea and birdlife spectacular!
Friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed the experience and had a beautiful day for it. Would have given 5 if kayaking wasn't hard work.
Good trip and great guide. Highly recommend
Highly recommended. Our tour guide Lucas was very professional and attentive to every detail. Felt very safe even for beginners.
Loved the service and equipment, would definitely recommend!
It’s so fun experience
Excellent time going around Abel Tasman by the sea. Really good equipment. Good and long info before going Thanks
My group did the kayak tour in the morning then went to anchorage in the afternoon. This was great, as the water was calm and after a mini hike to peak hill I got to chill on the beach in the afternoon. I was traveling solo, so I shared a kayak with the tour guide Alex, he was super friendly, very knowledgeable of the surrounding area and took over the paddling when I just wanted to be lazy. If you’re staying in nelson they offer free pick up and drop off coach to your accommodation which was also a deciding factor when I was booking the tour. The driver was SUPER friendly and again made me feel comfortable as a solo traveller. I would definitely recommend.
We loved this trip! From the warm welcome and informative introduction given by our guide Lee Ann, we were immersed into an unforgetable experience. Twelve of us powered this beautiful waka straight out to sea - it was windy and waves were high. It was amazing how fast we went and soon got to Split Apple Rock where we were provided with morning tea. Such a beautiful bay to spend time and some swum out to the rock. Amazing morning and over too quickly.
Merci beaucoup Lee Anne What a special morning it was and great to learn and share some of your Maori culture. Dawn also really enjoyed it and was really appreciating you took her fear of water away. We loved the company of Theresa and her family and all her Maori influences and knowledge. It is a peaceful, cultural, interesting and fun experience we truly recommend to everyone. Huge thanks again Mihi Koe Kia Ora Cédric et Dawn
