Staff are very helpful and knowledgable. The talk was fantastic and informative. The animals are healthy. Lovely shop if you wanted to just buy wo products. Loved the baby goats!
Had a family trip to sheep world with our two and a half year old and we all had a blast. Was very impressed with the effort put in here and the welfare of the animals. The show was both informative and entertaining and Lee who was running the show did a fantastic job even with a busy room of children. Will definitely be returning and will be recommending to all that I can as I truly think this is a bit of a local gem and am so grateful that it was taken over by springboard to be available to the community for hopefully years to come.
We had an awesome day, got to feed and hold baby Lambs and feed calves. Very friendly staff and delicious Cafe food!
My toddler was super happy! All the animals are kid-friendly — Alpacas, sheep, donkey, goat, pig and dogs! The cow even kissed my daughter and came for a hug ❤️
Fabulous friendly staff and well looked after animals , the children loved being able to get up close and personal with them . Would certainly recommend this as a destination for the young and old :)
Nice place to spend a day
Had lots of fun learning about the life of a shepherd and sheep. Was thrilled by the dog and sheep show as well as the sheep shearing demonstration. Though it's slightly far away from Auckland, it's worth the travel.
农场里有羊驼,绵羊,山羊,鸵鸟,矮马,猪,鸡鸭等各种动物,可以看到有趣的羊跟狗的表演,还有剪羊毛的现场表演,孩子非常开心。
We were welcomed by Barbara who was delightful. John provided an hours worth of entertainment for the show which was superbly insightful whilst also being really fun and allowed the children to interact with the animals. The feeding of the animals was great fun. We all had a super day! Many thanks to all at SheepWorld
My 2 year old and 6 year old thoroughly enjoyed their trip. The show is about an hour and although my 2 year old struggled to sit still the whole time it was quite interesting. Highlight was def feeding the lambs. Kids enjoyed feeding the rest of the farm animals and theres a 10min discovery trail which was neat. The cafe has affordable food which is quite nice and theres a kids playground too. Would def return again
We had an amazing day exploring Matakana. Everything was so well thought out and organised. Overall a fantastic day, would definitely recommend!!
Who would have thought that a picnic in winter would be just as good as a summer one. I surprised hubby for his 50th with a rare day out with just me and told him to put on this thinking cap and go with the flow. With a warm cuppa coffee , map and clues in hand we meander through the nooks and crannys of Matakana Village gathering goodies along the way ending up in unfamiliar spots with breathtaking views and a delightful picnic to remember. We highly recommend Village Picnics for any occasion where you want to connect and explore and escape.
Awesome experience. Well organised and a lot of fun to do. Highly recommended 👌
Such a great experience! Loved it so much! If you want to explore a new place or try different things then this is definitely for you! Especially if you're trying to do something different for a date this is perfect and if you make it to the end it's meant to be!
We were very excited for our trip and unfortunately got dealt a bad hand with the weather. However, we had an awesome time and would recommend the experience to everyone as a great way to see the area. A lot of fun!
Loved the experience. It was an enjoyable journey and the ferry was not too crowded too. Food and beverage available upon request. The island was overwhelmed in solitude and serenity. The cooing of various birds freckled the daylight air. The beaches were good. But ladies bay was impeccably awesome. Treading there thru a narrow cleft in the rocks was challenging but the destination was great . Can't stay there much becuse the tide picks up and gettin back on to the cleft to exit would eventually be a swim. So dip in early and dry out quick. Cafe was good and staff was friendly. Mansion was open to viewing between 12 and 3 pm. The old copper mine is an hours walk from the ferry terminal but definately worth it. Looks majestic. Must visit place guys and on the royal main run. Good word team
Lovely venue with views out over the countryside, greeted with a lovely welcome, everything was already setup and ready to go. It started with a lesson on tasting and sampling some of the wines (which was really useful) and then went on to the experimenting of blending the wines - Super friendly, knowledgable and helpful team there. Really recommend - and the platters available are also great!
This was incredible. So informative and so much fun! Beautiful setting. Amazing value for the experience. Would reccommend this 100 times over!
An incredible experience, from start to finish! Matakana Estate is a gorgeous winery set in a breath-taking part of Auckland. Perfect for complete beginners or those with some good wine knowledge, everyone will finish the experience having learned something new. Our wine expert Serenity couldn't have been more lovely and helpful throughout the blending experience, and the entire team was so nice. Throughout the process you are constantly tasting a variety of delicious wines, exploring your creative side and having heaps of fun. When it's all said and done you'll leave with gems of wine know-how, plenty of laughs and your own customized, unique bottle of wine that you blended yourself! Bonus- we ordered food while we were there and it was delicious, I would recommend arriving a bit early to enjoy some of their excellent kai (beef sliders and truffle fries were yum!). Give this experience a go, you won't regret it!
Would highly recommend the tour Ness has very informative and the best tour guide ever she spotted kiwi’s throughout different stages of the walk we were so lucky to see them as sometimes you don’t very pleasant she even makes you hot choc and homemade cookies thanks a bunch Ness xx
If you like seeing Kiwi in the wild, then you HAVE to do this tour Ness is amazingly knowledgeable about the region and the animals within. We saw two that night and one of them walked right across the path in front of us. To see them that close was a truly special experience.
Very special experience! Kind of like hiking but the first time at night that everything feels so different. There was about 20 minutes easy walkway before entering the forest. Three kiwi birds were found and many other lovely creatures. The tour guide lady was very experienced and nice. Great and strongly recommended!
Good food, service and ambience
We shared 5 dishes and all were lovely
We had tasty plates to share, squid, pork tacos and the new country pizza. Although the plates looked small, they actually are very filling and we didn't finish everything. The must have--rhubarb tonic for the cocktails is also a pretty pink drink one will surely enjoy. Thumbs up for Smiths!
We enjoyed the walk through native bush and found the sculptures and artworks interesting and thought provoking.
We really enjoyed our visit. The whole place was beautifully presented. The sculptures were an interesting mix. The quotes made interesting reading. The day we visited was drizzly and overcast but it didn't take anything away from the experience. Even my teens had a good day and they are hard to please.
A lovely day out to look at art and sculptures. Have a bite to eat in between, and finish with a glass of wine.
Highly recommended! Very peaceful place and healing place, balancing all senses. The art collection, the nature, the staff …everything is in a harmony Thank you for sharing your treasure with us
The Sculptureum is a really cool place to visit, the full price had put me off a bit but bookme's price was great. There are heaps of things to look at, it takes a while to work around. Us adults enjoyed it as much as our 2 year old.
Had a wonderful time here. Could possibly get a bit more signage on where to buy tickets or the entrance is. Some stunning artworks. A lovely walk to experience different points of view. Inspirational quotes. Loved the snails. Great for old and young.
