Tick off an essential kiwi adventure as you experience typical rural farm life at the beautiful Bullswool Farm Park!
Bullswool Farm is a slice of Kiwi paradise and a must-do for those wanting to experience typical Kiwi rural farm life.
Perfectly positioned just minutes from the famous Karangahake Gorge walking tracks and set amongst wild and beautiful landscapes with stunning views, this unique working farm is the perfect way to disconnect in the peace and tranquility of nature.
You'll get to meet many rare-breed farm animals which include; miniature horses, emus, goats, alpacas, llamas, deer, paint horses, kune-kune pigs, miniature cattle, rabbits, rare breed chickens, ducks, pheasants, coloured sheep and donkeys. All the animals are friendly and well-cared for so you can get right up close and hand-feed them - even the biggest animals!
The kids will absolutely love the play area, with wooden play structures built by award-winning sculptor, Tony Howse. When you feel like exploring, there are many walkways to roam at your leisure offering amazing farmland and bush views, or you can check out the native bird reserve and the Gold & Kauri Museum.
To top it all off, why not bring lunch and enjoy it at one of the several picnic areas? There really is something for everyone!

Great place to visit. Get to feed the farm animals and experience a bush walk.
Love the experience!!!
I have brought international students to Bullswool Farm many, many times as it is a very unique experience for them to be able to see, touch and explore so many animals in one space. They love being able to get up close and feel the animals, and being able to feed them is an awesome bonus. Bullswool never fails to delight and most of my guests are in their late teens or early 20's. Combined with a walk through the Karangahake gorge rail tunne,l and also the Windows walk, it is a great day out. If you have extra time make a full day of it and ride the train as well.
We took the grandkids and had the best day out. Such a beautiful farm and so much for the kids to see and do. Loved the wooden excavator and hut. Just a magical place . Thank you so much.

Lovely outing
We came with a 7 year old, an 11 year old, two adults, and a 16 year old exchange student. It was very fun! The $5 feeder buckets are massive and coloured cups indicate which animals eat which food in the bucket. There were baby turkeys and baby ducks! We also went on the short bush walk and there is a massive eel in the creek by the eel sign. I recommend this lovely farm. Also the lady running it is so nice! Loved chatting with her. She also has a little food truck that makes coffee and real fruit ice cream. I did not try the coffee but the real fruit ice cream is delicious. We also brought a picnic lunch and there was a covered veranda with a couch and wooden seating we could sit at to eat before exploring the farm.
