Our driver Sonya was amazing! From a great sense of humour to an A++ bus driver, our experience on the coach tour was enjoyable. Facts and delivery were on point and I couldn't recommend it more. Buffet food and service onboard the cruise was amazing too. Food was delicious and the views were phenomenal. All in all, would highly recommend this on the list of things to do while in the South Island. Worth the money for sure!
The tour was awesome! It was very entertaining and infortmative! There were allt of stop overs for photo opportunities. Even though the weather was a bit rainy we still saw the beautiful views milford sound has to offer.
This is a small group tour and the pick up is at where you stayed. The driver and guide is knowledgeable and shared many information. The tour also brought you to some interesting walk along the journey. The buffet food was delicious, abundance of food, sauces. Highly recommended. We enjoyed the tour.
Great experience. We enjoyed the beautiful views. Thanks to our amazing tour guide, Cowboy. You made the long drive awesome with your knowledge, stories, jokes, poems and travel hacks ?.
Brad was amazing, funny and expert driver. Makes our trip really enjoyable, interesting and full of knowledge, SON OF A BEACH hahaha lol😊
I can not recommend this experience enough. It was absolutely awesome. We were on the bus ‘AWESOME’ and Paul the driver was so entertaining giving us a lot of history and interesting detail about the native birds, environment, area and all given in a way that was definitely not not boring
It's a really really long way from Queenstown to Milford Sound. But on the journey, we have a great view and a chance to get off and take photos on some sites. The buffet was good, but it's hard to eat for a long time because the seats are tight and the ship is leaving. Milford Sound can be different from expectations and you can be disappointed because it is usually rainy. Even if it rains, don't stay in the cabin. Watch the Great Milford Sound at Top Deck. Prepare a raincoat or waterproof jacket. I prepared a packable windshield jacket. And you should protect your cell phone and camera from rain and waterfall. !Don't miss this trip!
Our driver Johnny was easy to converse with. I sat up front & enjoyed the views during our drive to Milford Sound & back. There were only five of us, plus Johnny, so it was easy getting on/off during our various photo stops. Enjoyed the Cruise I went on with Real Journeys. It rained just a bit, but enough to bring out a few additional falls during the two hours we were out. I had been doing a lot of driving around NZ in the days preceding, so was happy to book a tour that included transport from Te Anau. :)
There's just no other trip like this in New Zealand. Absolutely breathtaking! Note that it's quite a long day of travelling and you will be tired by the end of it all. Hats off to our bus driver, Richard. You're a great host and driver. Keep it up!
Great tour nice staff nice food !
Southern discoveries to Milford was a great company to tour with. From the helpful phone conversation as to where we could be collected to the very informative and a helpful bus driver. The coach was very comfortable and the stops along the way for coffee and points of interest were well spaced and with adequate time allowed to enjoy all. The boat trip on the Sound was great , staff very helpful and the food was delicious.
A big thank you to Ray and his team for a great day; Te Anau to Milford, return. We were collected from our hotel in a modern 16 seater bus and received a informative and interesting commentary to and from Milford. Morning tea and packed lunch included and about 20 photo stops and short walks into the beautiful native bush including seeing several waterfalls. The 2 hour cruise on Milford Fiord/Sound was on a clean modern Cruise Milford NZ boat, again with an excellent commentary. This was a great day out (0800-1730ish) and we saw so much more than if we would have driven ourselves. Thank you Fiordland Tours?
We always book with Jucy. Very dependable. The o my suggestion we have is to bypass TeAnau Downs. The other tours buses pass it for a reason … we’d rather have the extra time at Mirror Lake. Most of the boat crew was so helpful and friendly, the lunch was satisfying also. Great job!
From when Marcus picked us up he was informative and we had a fantastic day and he stopped often for photo opportunities and made sure everyone was comfortable. I would recommend this company and tour. Even the weather gods played the part
Awesome day and great day to see and experience the beauty of this part of Aotearoa. Our bus driver Ngaire was very knowledgeable and I learnt so much. Thank you!
Good driver
Was an amazing experience! Our guide, Brad, drove safely and all the times very well mood making the trip excellent as well. I was afraid to not enjoy because the weather was too rainy, but Brad made sure, that will be better. And was true. Waterfalls full of beauty. Comfortable coach, modern and easy translator. The Wi-Fi worked just in the beginning, some minutes after, no signal. The boat was nice, powerful and silent. The lunch was the only part I am not totally satisfy. Medium buffet. The advertising showed much more. The food was ok. Don't worth it. Was difficult to listen The Capitan as well. All staff deserves my congrats. They are friendly and easy to communicate. I recommend the company. Want Next time 100% sure.
We loved every minute of this trip. The skipper was so knowledgable and also so funny too. We loved having the opportunity to see the wildlife and he was also so respectful of it too. Would love to do it again
We were lucky to be there at a quiet time for tourists, professional cruise, great commentary, nice staff, amazing views and the captain takes you right up under some water falls and to see the special locations. We saw some fur seals at seal rock very close up, just amazing, would do it again!
This is a must do, I loved every minute of it skipper of the boat was so kind a lovely too. Everything was amazing
Long coach trip but very informative and well worth it.
We had originally booked a 1h15min flight over Milford Sound, but got rescheduled for a tour including one 30 minutes flight from Te Anau to Milford Sound (with landing) followed by a 45 min flight from Milford Sound over Doubtful Sound and back to Te Anau. That was even better than expected because we got to see almost half of the Fiordland! The weather was great and the pilot was giving instructive details about the sceneries along the way. Great experience and lovely staff.
We were unsure whether to drive to Milford or spend the money to fly & I'm so glad we chose the latter. The welcome & subtle weigh in was great, staff were all very friendly. The only thing needed before take off was possibly a 2nd toilet...took a while to queue for the facilities! The flight itself was amazing. We had a beautiful day for it, sunshine & clear skies. Our pilot, Karl was awesome pointing out the sights during the 40 min flight over the mountains & lakes. If anyone is thinking of doing this then please do...its an experience you wont forget!!
The weather wasn't great the day started out overcast and we had a bit of rain, sleet and snow but not enough to dampen anyone's spirit. Our coach driver Pablo was fantastic, funny and informative through out the tour. My husband and I live in the north island and this was our first trip down south, I am of maori decent and want to say without a doubt this was one of the highlights of our holiday. We had planned to fly back to Queenstown from Milford but alas it was unsafe to do so and so after our amazing cruise out to the Tasman sea and back we returned by coach. A great day, spectacular views, friendly people and staff especially Pablo our premo safe driver...
